We purchased three of these for our children based on good reviews. My children have been using them for a little over a month and loved them. They are adorable and make a cute nightlight. However, we had one of the bases plugged in, charging, and it literally exploded, sending soot, smoke, and metal pieces throughout my kitchen. The base was smoking and too hot to touch. I am so grateful no one was in the room because they would have been seriously injured. My children are so disappointed; I am angry. Do not buy this for your family’s safety.

It exploded. Literally.

However, we had one of the bases plugged in, charging, and it literally exploded, sending soot, smoke, and metal pieces throughout my kitchen. The base was smoking and too hot to touch. I am so grateful no one was in the room because they would have been seriously injured. My children are so disappointed; I am angry. Do not buy this for your family’s safety.
You know how people hated how that second Apple mouse had the charger placed in a way which made using the thing stupid? That's this cat. So, the charger port is on the very bottom of the cat, and then you must remove the cord for the cat to stand up. Battery won't last through the night, but it's a few hours. Ideally, the butt plug would be on the rear of the cat so that the cat could still stand upright while taking it in as with all good butt plugs, but no, you're stuck having to lay it on its side, charge, and then resume position. It's a first world complaint, but this is really too much effort for a novelty night light. I plan on taking a stab at seeing if I could cut a small hole in the back and mod the thing so the cable can power the little light 24/7, but that's ridiculous to have to do that myself (and risk damaging the product) just to have it be functional. If you are willing to do that though, then you'll have a cute cat light with a pretty color cycle effect.
First of all, just note this doesn't "stay" on any color other than white. It's toggles through the different colors like orange, green, pink etc. But you can only keep it on white. That being said, I only wanted it for white so I am happy. The cover IS very prone to things like dust and hair sticking to it like other reviewers said but I just wipe it off if that happens. Otherwise, this light is perfect. I use it to light a small room at night so my child can see to the bathroom. It's actually nicely bright - well lit without feeling too bright. I do wish the USB was on the side or back, rather it's underneath so when you are charging it, it can't sit upright. It comes with a cord but you'll need an outlet attachment if charging it through the wall. Overall, happy because it's what I needed but it could use a little improvement. I do like it enough to buy my daughter her own for her room.

We didn't have the light on all the time and only when we needed it. So, we only charged it once for the 1 week of use. We chose the celebrity cat style as the other two were too "kiddy" for our taste, but they would make a great gift for any kid. We were quite surprised at how large the night light was. Thus night light was much better than l expected. It stays charged for a really long time, have had it for over a month with intermittent use and have not had to charge it again yet. My daughter loves the silky smooth feel of it, and will even bring it to bed with her on occasion. You are supposed to be able to tap it to change from white light to colored light to off, but it is so sensitive that tapping the table its on will change it. Highly recommend!
Perfect. My child loves his kitty. Exactly what I was looking for. I've even charged it once since using it. It arrived on Thursday, and it didn't need to be charged until Saturday night, despite using it all night two nights in a row. My 4 year old loves it, and loves how easily he can just grab it and make his way through the house to Mom and Dad's room. He calls it his kitty, and can't wait to use it every night. It's bright enough to comfort him, and the very first night he said "ooo! I can look at it when I can't sleep!" My kids both have trouble falling asleep sometimes, so this is a great, relaxing tool for him to have. I would DEFINITELY purchase again, and kinda want one myself to put in the bathroom for a moody relaxing shower. I would DEFINITELY gift this to anyone with kids, or anyone whom I think could use a little relaxing. I don't sleep with lights on, at all, but even with the kitty in our room, I was able to sleep totally fine.
I've always wanted one of these. Finally I splurged since I'm pregnant and maybe it could be a baby light.
It is bright! I can't imagine anyone sleeping with that amount of light but I suppose I'm not a wee person scared of the dark. If there's other light in the hoise, I like the changing colors and I like the warm white light. Otherwise, this is too bright for me.
The cat is freakingly floppy when you pick it up and move it somewhere else. Plus, it weirds me out that you tap on the floppy cat to change the color. I have it on my remote teaching table now and when I set down a mug, put down a notebook, etc., the lamp thinks I want a different setting.
The battery life is okay but it would be more convenient if the lamp was a plug in so I don't have to deal with USB.
I'm glad I bought it so now I know what it's like. I wouldn't buy it again. I'll likely replace this with a "real" plug in dimmer lamp before baby arrives. Maybe I'll bring it to school when we go back and give it to a kid.
The directions are entirely in Chinese. There are no English directions anywhere. Though it seems obvious on how to charge it and make it work, it just never worked. Me and my husband spent a while trying to make it work... sending it back. UPDATE. This vendor kindly sent me a new one free of charge and it works great. The only thing that is disappointing is that I need to charge it daily. I leave it on as a nightlight in my 3 year old rooms and by morning it needs to be recharged.
Bought this as a gift for my fiancee when she expressed to me that she had trouble sleeping in fully darkened rooms. It was much bigger than I expected, and the silicone texture is nice, though it does like to "dent" when you grab it by the silicon and not the bottom, my biggest complaint is it has no timer. You CAN set it up to stay a single color other than white, it is described above in the listing, "While it is in 7 color breathing mode, tap it gently, and it will stay a single color" My fiancee just tested this and it worked. Overall, great product, I foresee a few more once children enter the picture!
