To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I now own the Blu-ray version from several years ago mixed by the master Elliot Scheiner and now the Blu-ray/CD version that just came out. I won't comment about the video or the editing done for this makeover. I only want to point out the difference in the audio remix. What were rays' boys thinking not bringing Elliot Scheiner back in too touch up the original 5.1 mix, if needed? The result is a very good stereo plus sound missing so much of the excitement from the original 5.1 sound. Elliot placed so much in the back speakers that we felt the background singers were sitting around us and now the sound is at least 90% front, 10% back. I think it was a huge insult to use amateurs remixing when the original was flawless!
I just took delivery of my Roy Orbison Black and White 30 deluxe package with 5 bonus alternate version tracks. I immediately tried to use my download code to get the bonus tracks to receive this message: Our records show that you are coming from the following country: United Kingdom Unfortunately at this time, purchasing music and promotional code redemption are restricted to US residents. I can't say I am at all happy with that. Half the reason for buying was the extra tracks
Have to give this one a 3-star review - not because of the music itself - Orbison and friends are fantastic - but because I ordered it as "New" and Amazon sent me a "Used" copy. No cello wrap, etc., and it was open. I had ordered this to give as a Christmas gift but can't do that now as the copy isn't a new one. I ordered two other CDs at the same time, and they came together and the others were new and in original packaging. Double-checked my order and yes, I paid for "New" and all 3 were coming from Amazon itself. Shame on you, Amazon!
