I have two hive plugs. One for my main TV and one for the computer. Both plugs keep leading to the TV and the computer shutting down intermittently. My guess is that it isn't putting a constant power feed through (momentary drop in power). I've stopped using it for my PC due to the risk to the hard drive of it shutting down improperly. I'm contemplating sending them back.
I was hoping that I'd be able to set start and end times in the schedule down to 1 minute increments, or at least 5 minute increments. However, you can only set start and end times as 00, 15, 30 or 45 minutes. I've had to go back to using a much cheaper unit that does allow much better time setting.
Pretty useless. It seems to keep switching off, as I have the tv plugged into it, it’s really annoying. It started as once an evening and now every 10 minutes or so. Works well with Hive/Alexa but I think there’s something not right with the power transfer as it’s cutting out.
The smart plug keeps loosing its wi if connection despite there being a good strong signal near the smart plug. Annoying if you are away and cannot turn your plug on or off because more than likely you have lost wi if.
Had the plug for two months. Started to switch off then on again on a random basis. Amazon replaced it but it started doing the same thing. Got in touch with Hive and was told it is a known issue and a firmware update is being worked on ! To late for me as I have arranged to send it back to Amazon for a refund. Amazon have been great. Shame the plug has problems. I also have Hive Smart Bulbs and (touch wood) they work fine.
Initially very happy with the 2 active plugs I bought, but stopped working to the schedule after about a week. Removing them from the system and rescanning them starts them working again, but again only for a short time.
They are now being used solely as manual remote switches, I am hoping that these will get a firmware upgrade in the near future making them a little more robust.
