To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I like the size and the easy way you can insert Cd's. There no buttons to push, you just lift using the slot on top. This would be a nice gift for someone who doesn't have much room. There is also a cassette player so dig them out and enjoy them again. It has a radio as well. Good value for the money.
I ordered three of these bomboxes to put in and around my house as I love to have music everywhere. I am also going to order another for my grandchildren to listen to cassette tapes from their parents era. Unit is compact, easy to use, sound is very good as far as I'm concerned. Over all I'm am very happy with my purchases.
I am shocked and disappointed to see how Sony quality has deteriorated so much over the years. All I wanted was a smaller version of my 12 year old Sony (same functions) for our sunroom, ie FM/AM;CD/Cassette. My old Sony is still going strong: it's heavier, looks expensive b/c of its obvious superior manufacturing quality of the day and has great sound. Dials/functions are easily discernible unlike this new version. I actually had to use nail polish to indicate the functions I would use more frequently b/c they are hard to read. This is a very light weight, cheap unmitigated plastic disaster from Sony with sound that is very 'tinny'. f I still find it hard to believe this is a Sony product. This is not worth $100. Save your $$.
As I've done many times, I bought this little boom box used. It arrived with no signs of previous use at all. It has CD player, Cassette recorder/player and FM Radio and all function properly. It has very good volume without getting distorted (Now, I'm sure if you played it at an outrageous level it would eventually lose out to distortion). It comes with an actual power cord that goes in a receptacle. I probably would seldom use it without having the mega bass button turned on. I like my music and I like it loud. It also has a sleep button on it so I'm assuming you could set an alarm. It doesn't come with a headset or microphone but it does have an aux in/out. I think the cord is about 6ft long and the boom box also works on batteries alone, enabling you to take your tunes with you.
Everything... This is a great radio and unlike all the others that show a telescopic antenna. This one actually has one. It's compact, It has a jack for your iPod and for head phones. It can run on electricity or 6 x C batteries. It is not Bluetooth. It is relatively simple to use and for the price is well worth it.
Very small unit, was expecting it to be a little bigger. Controls are sparse and hard to figure out. Have to read instructions each time I use it especially when using the CD player, how to skip, or advance. Its seems pretty pricy for what you get.
Years ago I received a similar Sony BoomBox, it is still running perfectly, easy to operate, sturdy, with excellent sound quality. Thinking I was getting the same thing, I ordered this Sony for my elderly parents. It came promptly but I was disappointed with everything else about it. It looks and feels cheap and is definitely not that easy for an elderly person to use. The instructions that came with it are also hard to follow and don’t address the simple things, like which button does what. I am quite disappointed.
Was looking for something for my office that was small, but would play cassettes (currently going through them, and transferring those I want to CD / USB) and CDs which I would play just for entertainment. Buttons aren't the easiest to find, so rating is one notch down.
This is a piece of junk. Put in tape, but radio kept coming on, not tape. Radio recorded over tape and ruined it. I put six brand new batteries in the unit, When I turned the radio on a few days later, I got "low battery" message. It turns out, the radio does not shut off when you push the off button, THE RADIO IS ON CONSTANT STANDBY AND DOES NOT TURN OFF COMPLETELY, SO BATTERIES GET USED UP IN SHORT PERIOD. THE ON/OFF BUTTON ONLY GOES ON AND THEN ON "STANDBY", NOT OFF.
