To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Against my better judgment after reading critical reviews, I pulled the trigger on this product and bought a couple sets. I was happy with the results for my specific use-case.
I calibrated the devices using the stock calibration solutions in 250mL of distilled water (tap water will throw off your measurements) and it was mostly fine. The problem was that one of the pH meters wouldn't calibrate at the 9.18 calibration point and only recognized it as 6.86. This was a red flag at first, but it didn't appear to matter as it measured with the same accuracy with a 2-point calibration as the other pH sensor did with a 3-point calibration.
Now, since my measurements were all around 6pH (hydroponics), I found that the readings were very accurate when tested against standards withing 5-7pH, with variance of +/- 0.01, and increasing variance outside of that. pH around 9 was +/- 0.15 on one unit and +/- 0.3 on the one that couldn't calibrate at 9.18. Of note: I found about a 5% variance in the measurements taken with each of the units results compared to each other, meaning their pH sensor manufacturing spec likely has a fairly large tolerance.
The EC sensors appear to be consistent with each other and I was able to accurately measure my dissolved solids conductivity using us/cm^2.
In short, if your working range is 5-7, this set will be great value for your money. If you're working outside of that range, you may have to spend some more money on a different set.
One more consideration is that the pH calibration standards included are non-standard. They are 4.0, 6.86, and 9.18, meaning they will be relatively difficult to find for purchase. My recommendation: make the calibration solutions and store them in a sealed glass container for future calibrations. They will need to be replaced eventually, but at least they're usable more than once.
I have only used these a couple of times and was a little hard to calibrate but it seems to be fairly close so for the price it's worth it , I will update after I use it for a bit .update for the money this works pretty good so if your on a budget go for it .
PH meter works well and can be calibrated with the included packets. The TDS meter, unfortunately, doesn’t have any way to calibrate. That being said, I’m using it as a relative measure so it’s good enough in that sense.
They work well. I’m unsure about the accuracy of the ph meter as they differ from other meters I use. But I’m not sure which one is most accurate at this time. Ppm meter seems accurate enough. Great product for the price, if perfect accuracy isn’t important.
Units arrived on time, packed well, but these units came without protective covers. My last ones had the covers, a plastic one for the ph meter and a vinyl one for the ec meter. Not real happy about having to repack into the box after every use to keep them safe.
It’s been working great for 6 months and then it stopped working properly. I tried to recalibrate using instruction, also i changed the battery. But it just lost his accuracy for some reason. Kinda disapointed because i need to use a ph meter regularly and right now im stuck with nothing to test my ph
The ec meter has lasted a total of 90 days and has quite working. Changed battery and still does not work. Big drawback to shopoing on amazon is no responsiblity. Very seriously have to consider whether it is worth it to use Amazon.
Calibration is ok. Cant really say if its accurate since I havent tested it with other pH meter but its steady. Only needed to recalibrate once so far but it doesnt take long to do. Would recommend for the price
