Murder in a grim but beautiful setting.
Reviewed in Australia on 4 August 2020
I have enjoyed several books set in Iceland. I began reading them just before a trip to Iceland in 2018. The environment is unlike any where else I have travelled. The atmosphere in these books is much grimmer than a tourist experiences but the landscape is so well described I felt I was back there. It is hard to review a book like this without giving away the murderer. There is a small group of people who have known each other for many years. Set near a deserted lighthouse in an abandoned village days before Christmas, the story covers many years of memories. Previous deaths are considered. Suicide? Accident? Ghosts? You must read on to find out. More recent deaths may be linked. I am not telling! read it for yourself. Unputdownable. I can't wait to get the next book by Ragnar Jonasson.
