Bought brand new from Amazon, but got a used one. After reading the reviews here, i didn't buy from a seller or warehouse, only Amazon, but still got a rotten egg. what can i say, be careful and check the products really good. this is the 3rd item, which i got from Amazon the past 2 weeks, that is used instead of brand new. it seems that getting brand new products from Amzon these days is like roulette. replacing...
as you can see in the images, all parts show some use and fingerprint all over them, the trimming guards arrived all messed up without them nylon bags, as seen in reviews here. the metal trimmers have scratches and look like they were heavily used/scrubbed. the rubber on the top of the body looks dry and cracked, as seen in the images. the battery was completely empty on arrival, it won't turn on, the led was red when tried to switch on. Lithium battery should have some juice on arrival, else the battery could be damaged, if empty for a long period of time. This item is clearly a refurbished one.
OK, this thing trimmed my beard heard like a pro but when I went to use it to remove hair on my legs, it seriously cut my legs in several places on the back of my legs. So the more difficult the area and angle, the more damage so this thing is terrible for that. Might be great for a beard but don't try to man-scape with it or you might get cut like I did. Was not expecting it to be so single purpose.
Product works alright, with some issues. First biggest issue is that even though the top blade snaps onto the top of the device, there is a gap in front and below the blade where trimmed hair can get sucked in and tangled into the inner device. It spent half an hr cleaning out tangled hairs in the groomer. That is a really poor design, particularly if you are cutting facial hair which can curl up into the groomer. This could also lead to pulling hairs if the spinner under the razor sucks in hair. The device itself works rather quietly.
Trimmer designs have improved quite a bit, but so much attachment swapping is required. The main negative for this unit is that the medium sized, general purpose clipper is not close enough. I have to switch to the tiny clipper/cutter quite frequently. I suppose they are trying to avoid the cutting/scraping injuries that can happen with a really close clipper, but that's pretty much up to me as a user. I want a close clipper to go over everything and get rid of those "Just barely too long for the shaver" whiskers before I use a foil shaver.
