Phones are good but as this product is shipped from the USA it comes with adapters made for that market which can not be used in Australia. 120v vs 240v. Try plugging it in and it starts smoking. Avoid purchasing this handset in Australia.
This phone was pretty good for the first few months. I had to put a lot of effort into figuring out how to actually put the phone on silent mode and set the ringers in a certain way in order to be able to actually completely silence the phone & answering machine for when I need to take a nap. It was a bit of trial and error but eventually I got it and the phone was working great for me. The sound quality of the phone is great, the speaker phone is the best I've ever used, but the answering machine sound quality is not good. If the caller doesn't speak loudly and clearly it comes out all garbled and hard to understand. But here's the reason I'm giving the phone 2 stars...the ringer has started to malfunction out of the blue. It was working fine for months and then on its own just began to do half-rings instead of the full length rings. So I had to change the ringer setting from 5 rings to the maximum of 7 so that I have time to get to the phone before the machine picks up. The caller only hears 4 rings, but my phone actually rings 7 times but the rings are short for some reason. Sometimes the ringer warbles like it's not sure it wants to ring at all. Panasonic customer support recommended doing a factory reset but that would wipe out everything on the phone, all the saved phone numbers, my outgoing message, all my phone settings, etc. And I can't remember all the settings I needed to change in order to get the phone to work how I wanted it to, so I'm really reluctant to do a reset. I feel like the phone is dying and won't last much longer anyway. I bought it in early October and it is early March now and it's been having the ringer problem for the past several weeks.
Update: I went ahead and did the factory reset and the ringer is still malfunctioning.
