the mount itself is good quality and easy to install, the problem is that when you connect the camera to the mount you can not connect the power cable. The round plastic used to tighten the screw to the camera blocks the access for the power cable. I ended up taking the plastic circle of and used some tool to tighten the screw to the camera. This was not easy and very frustrating. How can they design a mount that blocks the access for the power cable?
This appears to be a lower quality than the Arlo branded product, and whilst reasonable value it's much fiddlier to attach a camera to when it's fixed the wall and you're at the top of a ladder. Needed it, and it's up, but wouldn't buy again.
These are adequate, I would not say they are the best option I could buy, but the cost savings over the Arlo branded ones was significant enough that I can deal with them.
Cons: 1. they are basically painted primer white, the paint is flaking off especially with the turning of the thumb turn. 2. a few of the holes where the screws go from the post into the house/wall were cracked before I received them. Minor crack, but I could see it and it exaggerated when I tightened a screw into the wall board below.
Pros: 1. cost 2. They seem to hold tight, no slop in the post joint from the camera into the base
Final verdict will be in how they hold up over the next few months.
At first I had been very happy with these mounts. I used a drill and mounted them under a portion of my roof and had the camera on the mount showing my driveway. It’s been a couple months now and I took the camera off to recharge (as I’ve done a few time now), and went to put the camera back on the mount. Now the mount won’t hold its position/angle any longer and no matter what I do the camera mount won’t hold the angle due to the weight of the camera. I’ve had had to buy another set of these and am hoping the new set will not have this problem. There are no other mounts that provide the length and angle that I need for the position of the camera.
