I was in the look out for a portable bluetooth speaker for few weeks and was initially keen on JBL or Sony brands. Later I started looking at Bose as well. Sony got ruled out because of poor sound quality. JBL's sound quality is not bad but what helped to make my decision was Amazon's fantastic pricing for Bose plus free delivery. I am really happy with the prompt delivery and the Bose meets my expectations. Very happy customer.
Great sound from a small unit and all good re usability but disappointed with battery life, would not purchase again if I had to get another micro speaker, my prior [lost it] small JBL unit battery lasted way longer than this one from Bose.
Great sound for the size, love the strap, ended up using this speaker everywhere. The only flaw is the microphone, the other side dont hear very well. This speaker is great for music, not as a hands free set.
The unit is easy to use and has great sound quality. The strap comes undone easily so it can fall off your bike. It would be great if it had a small loop so it can be securely tied to catch it if it falls.
I bought 2. I gave one away as pairing them in party mode was frustrating; constant drop outs.
The sound quality is good, not what I'd expect from Bose. Was not able to hook up to the Sony TV via bluetooth, but was able to connect them to the AppleTV. I can see how the speaker would be great to use outdoors, but for indoor use, I would recommend something more powerful
Did a lot off research on this after the rechargeable battery in my last Bluetooth speaker - a £30 Blaupunkt - died and I couldn't recharge it anymore or replace it! This happened after really not a lot of use, so wanted to take more care over my next investment.
This comes highly recommended and for the most part I have to agree. The sound is incredible for such a small speaker and it goes loud enough for most casual listening purposes. I would appreciate another notch or two on the volume, as maximum is sometimes just a little short but for it's size it is incredible. My last one was 3x the size of this and for that reason I can see it getting used a whole lot more. This now lives in my backpack (taking up very little space) which has all my 'emergency' stuff in it and goes everywhere!
I only discovered yesterday (after a few days use) that my new phone had an EQ setting turned on by default that was reducing the bass and it still sounded good! Once I turned that off it has a very full sound. Stick it in a corner or next to a wall if you need even more bass and to fill a room.
The mid-range for me is a little muddy/confused but I am an audio professional and probably more fussy than most. For a small speaker this is simply ridiculous and very enjoyable to listen to. Yes, its more expensive than some of similar size but I'm not disappointed having spent that money.
Oh, maybe an aux jack would be a useful addition, so it's only that, being very slightly under-powered volume-wise and the more hefty price tag that loses it a star.
I was initially skeptical about the sound quality of this tiny speaker over some of the other manufacturers. But it turned out to be a great buy.
Pros: Great sound - wonderful sound balance (for the size). Good bass. Maintains good treble at high volume. Love the orange colour. Battery is okay.
Cons: Doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio port.
Connecting/managing multiple bluetooth connected devices is a hassle without Bose app (I don’t like to download an extra app for a feature that should be integrated by default). For example: Consider a laptop and a phone connected to this. The speaker should be able to switch over to the newest device playing the music automatically.
I’d still rate it a 4 because of superb audio quality.
Only just received this and sound quality is good - what you’d expect from Bose. However, the design could be a little better. Why did Bose not flattened base to reduce the curvature which isn’t great easily managed stability - it’s a bit fiddly to get it to stand, though once you have it does remain in place. Surprised this wasn’t noted in testing/product development. This almost means that adjustments require a firm holding of the device, followed by a bit more wobbling once adjustments made. That’s disappointing from a company well known for its design flare - hence three stars. I know it can be placed horizontally but as a playing option, vertical would be useful.
