The tracking is awesome and very accurate. The issue is the functionality. Sometimes the trackers will just refuse to turn on, at which point you have to plug them into the USB cable to force them to turn on. Since it's already quite the pain to strap into all the VR stuff and this just tends to add another level of frustration to the whole thing.
Another issue is sometimes software is smart enough to know where you've placed the trackers. Sometimes, however, software requires that you define each tracker to a specific location on your body. If you have a number of trackers it becomes tedious to figure out the correct ones for the correct locations, so you may want to label them. A simple LED display on the trackers would have resolved this.
The number of dongles that software supports will vary, but they will support at least three. I recommend purchasing three at max unless you are sure the software you want to use can utilize more of them.
Finally, they are not smart enough to use different dongles on the fly. So you have to make sure to plug in all the dongles to make sure it will see the ones you're using.
Sellar Zen Entertainer is good. But the vive trackers tracking is not as good as vive controllers. I have tested many trackers but the tracking is buggy in all of them. Vive trackers tracking should be as good as controllers
Unless you have a dedicated VR room body trackers are completely useless. You will not use them as much as you think you will. So think real long and hard about what $300 could buy you instead because you need three of these things for actual body tracking.
Have three. Two work okay, third I often have to replug & unplug a cable into it to get it working again. Battery time is not particularly impressive, always feel like I have to keep checking like I'm on a timer. Feel like they could be better for the price.
Makes me hesitate in buying other HTC VR related products.
After having to order 3 trackers, one of them was the wrong version and wasn't able to be tracked by my base stations. I know this because it has the grey logo on it while the other two and the boxes have the blue logo. I'm currently returning the grey logo tracker.
honestly these are great for vrchat however ive been having issue with one where it wont turn on no matter what i do. I want to get in contact with the owner in order to get a replacement because this is NOT acceptable for how much I paid..
