This Thunderbolt 3 Device is Absolutely Amazing, but with some Reservations about many Thunderbolt 3 Devices and their Ability to Work with Windows vs Apple. The NVMe slot is a dream for all Tech savvy users. The Glow Lighting is much more delicate than MOST of the RGB Lighting that has insulted our eyes for years.I have purchased a few TB3 Devices now and have experienced results that are both compelling and appalling with Windows Based PC'S. Finding Software/Firmware that makes these High End Devices work is at Best Obtuse. I Sent my Amazon purchased FireCuda Dock back to the Manufacturer after they could not troubleshoot it over the phone nor even remotely. They said they would replace it but suggested that MSI (my new notebook- Prestige 15 )had updated firmware for TB3.
I had already spent innumerable Hours with MSI, Seagate and Intel.I had earlier sent my Notebook back to MSI together with a smaller TB3 External NVMe SSD and they said it worked fine after resetting Windows (which I had done 3 times myself - with no positive result)
My Daughters Macbook Pro 2020 recognised this device.The New Firmware does not work. I need help right now , like the Luke's Graham Song.

The 500GB model is 5000MB/s read and 2500MB/s write

The ad for the 500 gb stated "maximum sequential read and write speeds up to 5000MB/s and 4400MB/s". Not correct, write is only 2500MB/s. A Samsung Pro 500GB is 6900 5000

Used as the main storage drive for my home media server, it lasted less than 2 years, which is not at all impressive. My previous WD one, lasted nearly 5 years, which in my experience is more common place. Whilst it was working, the performance was very variable. Sometimes it would deliver the promised USB 3 performance, but at other times, it ran slower than a USB1.1 drive. Power-cycling it when it works slow would sometimes restore the performance, but not always.

SMR drive - horrible write performance

Do NOT buy these for shucking, in its current form these come with ST8000DM004-2CX188, which is SRM drive, write performance is atrocious (~ 10-20MB/s).

For XBOX/PS consoles, which are just reading data (write only happens once, during initial installation of the game), these will work, but even then if you got internet faster than 100Mbps, you are going to be bottlenecked by that sad drive when downloading/installing games.

I've had this item for a year now and was working perfectly up until recently. The device occasionally was not connecting properly, then completely died on me. It made a funny high pitched noise, I ran troubleshooting etc. And found that this is when the device just stops working. I'm hoping for a replacement, but this is an extensive amount of data that I'll now have to reinstall

Purchased at at the end of Jan. Replacing as of today. Unfortunately any sort of movement that seems heavier than normal and the thing breaks. Worked perfectly fine until I literally moved it to a different spot and it became unrecognised by the PS4 and started beeping non stop. Unfortunate having to pay £66 for something that lasted a month. Don’t recommend seagate.

i pruchased this product in april and i was really excited to finally buy it but after just two months it just stopped working and i have no idea why. it has been in the same place and has never been moved etc. it just keeps making a beeping noise and it really should not be making this kind of noise and stop working juist two months after purchase.

This worked really well and I was amazed how easily it worked with my ps5, but after 27 days it completely crashed and almost took my ps5 with it. Needless to say disappointed to have spent £50 for a drive that I had only used 30% of its storage to break for it to break not even a month after buying.
