Well, I see all the positive reviews but my experience was not good. I ordered and received these early May 2018 and already they are not keeping connection. They do seem very nicely built so maybe mine are a fluke, but this came with a set of two. The short wire quit on me about 3 weeks ago and today the long one has stopped.
Bought this cable set just over 3 months ago. The longer cable quit charging after 6 weeks. We didn't use the short cable until the first one died. Now the short cable has quit charging after 3 months. The product looks quality, but don't waste your money.
When I first ordered these cables, the 3.3ft cable had a short in the micro B connector. The company sent a replacement, but both of the replacement cables had a short in the micro B connector. The short in my second set would cause my computer to reboot.
I have other cables that work fine, so I know it's not a problem with the USB port on my PC, the micro B connector on my phone, etc.
Other than the short, the cables look to be of good quality, so perhaps I was just very unlucky. I am awaiting a written response from the company.
So these can be used for lots of purposes, but one of the most common is to use a USB 3.0 hard drive (either powered or not) and in my extensive tests I've found the long cable (the 6.6ft) is not reliable to use in this manner. It may work for short periods of time, but it *will* drop out (and then quickly reconnect - this isn't a huge issue unless you are transferring files, when it is then a showstopper as you can't leave the computer but need to keep saying "try again".
I don't think it's these cables per se - it may just be a limitation of USB 3.0 and high speed drives. But I would not trust the 6.6 cable here for data transfer purposes (it corrupted a number of my files during a three day test).
I did speed tests using my USB 3.0 HDD and this cable only delivered USB 2.0 speeds, NOT 3.0 as promised in the product description. I also tested with a 15 foot long USB 3.0 extension cable I have which works flawlessly at USB 3.0 speeds so I know length isn't the issue, its this misbranded cable.
The cable worked well for a little over a month. Then it took about 18 hours to fully recharge my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro SM P900 tablet. Now it won't even charge to completion. I know it's the cable because when I use my friend's OEM Samsung cable, the tablet recharges fully in 2 to 3 hours. The return window is closed, so can't get a refund. This has been a waste of money.
It appears that using these cables, which were said to be compatible, has caused permanent damage to my Samsung phone. Overheated battery and triggered other issues which are causing phone to discharge rapidly. Problem persists even after replacing battery and charging with original charging cable. Will likely have to replace a phone, that while older, worked perfectly. KENHAO cord purchased prior worked very well but I wanted shorter cord which was not available from KENHAO. Now the KENHAO cord does not work. This purchase has proved to be a very expensive mistake.
Looked good. Received 9/28/18. 3.3' cable stoped working, 11/28/18. Say warranty is for 30 days, very suspect. Will be looking into it. Received replacements They are both defective. At this time I would like a refund! Please send me a return shipping label so I can return them.
It looks good, but it most definitely does not fit my Galaxy S5 Active. I didn't return it (a two pack) because I tore up the box opening it . I should have looked at the picture on Amazon more closely, so the mis-fit can be mostly my fault for ordering, but I trusted the write-up.
I bought this cable as a replacement charging cable for my wife's $1,000 Samsung tablet. She uses the tablet irregularly and is very, very careful with it. The Samsung cable that originally came with the tablet was thin with cheap plastic insultaion and, after a few years of use, the insulation wore through at the base of the connector that plugs into the tablet. It was, however, still useable and would still charge the tablet. THIS replacement cable simply stopped working after less than a year of very light use despite showing no visible signs of wear. So I will not buy this brand again.
