I made the mistake of assuming this drive would be similar to my two existing NAS WD drives : a WD Mycloud and a WD Mybooklive which work perfectly. It certainly is not!. If you want to access this drive from a SMART TV then you need to activate the PLEX application on the drive an install the PLEX application on your TV. There is no hint of this on the packaging or the enclosed scant documentation. If fact you need to conduct a search on the WD website to discover exactly how to proceed. If you are happy to do this then the device will satisfy you.
