like always Klein delivers best pair of scissors i have ever owned this new design make it easy for me to skin data cables, seems to cut effortlessly took about a week to adjust to cutting pull string with the front of the scissors instead of the back more than pleased with this product
I like the big handle and these type scissors I feel are a must for the data trade. I don't think I'd get the notch again though. They catch intermittently where the notches meet and you can cut more cables with scissors that don't have the notch.
Finally a set of drop-shears that I actually like. I do a fair amount of Data wiring. Not every day, but enough that I pack my punch-down kit everywhere I go. But, as I'm not an old school voice guy I never learned to love the old style drop-shears. I think a big part is I worked in boat canvas for ten years, and couldn't change my grip (if you don't get the difference, just go buy some diagonal cutters and move on). That said, I saw these and thought I would try again. The D handle really helps with leverage, and the vinyl dip has (thus far) staved off any blood blisters. But the awesome part of these is the cutting notch in the blade. It makes cutting CAT6 a realistic endeavor, not a task saved for fools and superheroes.
Awesome. Love the cove in the center for scoring plenum wire. Best snips I have ever owned.
I have now Then using these snips daily for the last 9 months. They are fantastic I get comments all the time on how fast I am while using these snips. My coworker bought a pair and he also loves the little cove that helps him score the plenum wire. I have cut all sorts of category cable as well as 12 16 and 22 gauge wire on a daily basis. They are still sharp as the day they were new
I have the standard Klein snips you get a Home Depot and I was completely unaware they made a larger version. I own 4 pairs of Klein snips, but these ones are by far miles better. I love the fact the handle is larger and is personally, more ergonomic. The cutting section is the same size but offers two additional features. For reeming conduit and a cutting cable groove that keeps cables from walking when doing cuts. Overall, I prefer this design and actually bought another pair at Graybar when i went to pick up supplies. Definitely the best basic snips you can buy for the buck.
So I bought my self a set of these and I mainly use them with low voltage cabling. I will admit the cutting groove sucks for cat5/6/7 wire it doesnt seem to cut it cleanly right there. the rest of the blade does cut cleanly and without effort. I use the cutting groove to strip cat5/6/7 wire quickly without having to reach for another tool. 10/10 would buy this exact pair again and I'm trying my hardest not to lose these!
I've been using these for the past few months on the job site doing server/computer set up and this has been a big help in making my life easier. These scissors have no problem cutting CAT cables, plastic, paper, cardboard, and more. They are comfortable to use. Overall if you need to cut anything that I've listed and probably a lot of other things as well this is a great choice to do it.
I'm glad I got these. They are really sharp and high visibility. Perfect for all kinds of electrical work, including stripping wires or cutting thick coaxial cables. The finger holes are pretty small for a lineman, so when it comes to putting your fingers inside, just use the tip.
These are the most “un-ergonomic” electrician scissors I have ever used. I have been switching all of my Klein pliers, except wire strippers, over to Knipex pliers. Klein screwdrivers are still my go-to, but Klein needs to step it up with their pliers. The new standard is Knipex pliers. I bought the Knipex scissors.........wow. They are amazing scissors.
