The USB Cassette to MP3 converter works very well as the ad hype suggests. There is some background hum on the digital recording before music starts getting recorded, presumably being picked up from the drive motor, but it is not discernable when the music is playing at all but the quietest of passages. Apart from that the resultant MP3 files are excellent.
I could not have asked for any device which is simpler to use and delivers a quality output. As simple as inserting the cassette and pen drive and play the cassette and start the recording and your music is in MP3 format in the pen drive. Thank you!
Get ready to take a trip down nostalgia lane with this amazing cassette player (children please Google Cassette). It's not the first one I've owned but the previous one gave up in the end after copying hundreds of old cassette tapes to MP3 and only recorded via USB into a laptop. Place that cassette tape in, close the lid and a sturdy click of the play button and boom you have music. The headphones supplied aren't particularly good so I tested with my own and through a small portable speaker plus as the video shows though the car stereo (most cars would be the aux in). It's a cassette tape player so don't expect CD quality but you will get great audio quality exactly like the good old days and plug a USB stick in and you can record anything that's playing (like recording the top 40 on a Sunday Afternoon). The quality of the MP3 recorded using the built in facility was excellent and I use Adobe Audition professionally so was able to clean up and get really good archives. Because this has a USB stick recording facility there is no USB out to record into a PC or MAC. Love it Love It Love It - But remember to have a pen or pencil nearby (Only grown ups that have used cassette tapes will know why)
At last - I sung a song for my dear wife 25 years ago. It was in a cassette. It stayed in the cassette. Our daughter wanted to listen to it and keep it on the phone. This player is ideal. I just plugged the headphone jack into the amp and that's it, she stood there and recorded it and said oh you sound so young, cheeky! Really useful to have auto reverse funciton too. We also have box of cassettes somewhere in the attic so we will get going with more memory lane! conversion
I bought this as I wanted to record some of my dad's band's old music from cassette to MP3 for him and I'm impressed at how many functions it has.
It's painfully easy to set up and will run off of rechargeable batteries or a USB plug (supplied) and I was up and digging through old cassettes in minutes. The record function is pretty foolproof; whack a dongle in and the record button starts instantly ripping. You can also break it down into individual tracks aswell and then instantly listen back. As it just detects MP3 files, rather than specifically what it's recorded, you can also load the dongle with tracks and make this a standalone MP3 player if you want, which is worth the price tag alone as you can walk around listening to digital music with a retro look.
The carry case is thick and durable. This one's a keeper!
Oh dear, it doesn't matter how the rest of it works when the playback head creates a pretty loud buzzing sound in both playback and on the digital recordings, I've clipped a bit of audio in the video file above of a mp3 file played back through desktop speaker to give you an idea.
At best it's a cheap "walkman" type device but I didn't buy it for that purpose.
(the packaging was nice, more solid than the actual item inside!)
I had average expectations for the price offered. It was a pleasant surprise to find better results than anticipated. It is simple to use, allowing both continuous mode or adding breakpoints among songs. I am very satisfied to have decades of tapes converted to digital.
Love this tape cassette..I had tapes I couldn’t use so it’s brilliant plus the headphone socket can be used to plug into the aux on a Bluetooth speaker so best of both plus other functions...love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
