Impressed with this camera, which allows you to happy snap to your heart's content with the "intelligent auto" setting if you're not in the mood for effort, or to get a professional-grade result with a few seconds for setting up, using the many options provided or going for entirely manual control. It's a big camera, but is thoughtfully designed to make it easy to hold, and as a left-hander who struggles with camera controls I must say it's the easiest one to hold and operate the buttons on that I've ever used. Where it is let down sadly is by the Canon Connect software, which connects the camera for picture transfer via WiFi, but to Android or iOs devices only. One selling point for me was that the camera can take photos in both jpg and RAW format, RAW giving a higher quality picture that can be post-processed on a computer to enhance it or bring out detail. Unfortunately Android devices will not store RAW images sent over WiFi, and they are converted into jpgs. So, if you want to use RAW format and all the advantages it gives, you will need to spend extra to get a USB connector to attach the camera to your desktop or laptop. This seems a bit shortsighted on Canon's part, as I think that most people buying this type of camera would want to use RAW format, if only to try it out.
I was looking to buy an entry level DSLR and this one fits the bill, easy to use, light and versatile and I can finally do justice to the fantastic scenery up in the Lakes. I particularly like the metal lens mount rather than the plastic one on the 4000D which should be far more robust. The only problem is the manual which comes with the camera which is almost useless so I took the advice of other reviewers and bought The Canon 2000D / Rebel T7 user manual which gives you all of the info that should be in the manual which comes with the camera.
I bought this a little over 6 months ago, but wanted to really experience it before giving a review.
to start with, I love the camera, its easy to use, by a first timer, and not so complex compared to the impression I had before buying.
it fits perfectly well on the tripod I bought randomly for the camera. Picture quality is tops with an auto focus function which was not as fast as I wanted, however its much faster than other cameras. come with a flip up flash, however, without the flash, this works well in low light as it auto adjust to the ambient light. I will definitely buy again, but of course not the same, but. higher grade of this, though I highly recommend of this.
Bought this camera for my photography course at university. It was my first camera and I thought it was a good starting point. I was very pleased with it until I tried to use it in the photography studio of my university. Both the 2000D and the 4000D don’t support external transmitters to connect them to studio lights. Therefore I am unable to use the professional lights in the studio. It is a good camera for beginners but beginners include students that often work with studio lights
For a ‘technical’ review of this camera. Please see the other reviews as they seem to have covered everything. Personally, I chose this camera as an entry level DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) to explore the world of photography beyond a) my history of 35mm SLRs/and 6cm TLRs and b) the very handy and capable ‘pocket sized’ digital compact cameras. From reading many reviews, from many sources, I decided this camera would be my most cost-effective approach - by minimising my initial spend (especially when this camera/lens was on offer), allowing subsequent investment once and if, I enjoyed the DSLR experience. I wanted a reliable, time proven camera that would a) provide easy yet comprehensive automatic shooting (happy-snaps!) and b) a semi-pro level of manual control. This camera was my choice. The camera has many, many features and functions and I have a long way to go before I will be able to use them all. I would like to offer the following though: The camera is well designed and fits comfortably in the hands for right-handed use, the camera is also surprisingly light – much unlike the rather heavy cameras and lenses of my past! The supplied handbook is next to useless, it is very long, but that is because of the inclusion of pretty much every language you can name. Some have complained about the unavailability of a handbook, but if you go to the manufacturer’s website it is quite easy to navigate to/and download the handbook for free. It only took me a couple of minutes. Would I recommend this camera – Yes, I believe it is perfect for one’s initial exploration of the DSLR world. Be sure to order a memory card as one does not come with it. Personally, I think Canon could have provided a minimum sized card to help get started, but oh well. Similarly, there is no camera to PC cable. I chose a card reader to overcome this. I hope this helps, if you are considering purchase of this camera.
This Reflex is perfect for the people that are approaching the world of photography, it have all the functionality that you need to understand all the technique to become a ph, in the manual mode i find it very clever in every aspect , with the rotating gear you can select the shutter speed or change the setting and perhaps set the iso that go from 100 to 6400, with this camera i've buyed a 50mm canon 1.8 to have a nice blurred effect for the portraits that i want. It's a difficult lens cause it zoomes a lot, because of the size of the sensor that is a aps-c and has a crop factor of 1.6 so a 50 mm become an 80 and so wiht other lens, you can calculate it doing the mm times 1.6. This camera has all the modern technologies from the wifi to remote control with your smartphone.
I sold my 1100d as I wanted something with a little bit more. I am certainly a amateur and I love using this camera. In fact I tried getting back into photography but I wasn't doing enough with the 1100d. Since I've had this camera, being able to link it with my phone and upload it I've used to so much more. For a beginners camera I think this one is brilliant. I've even ordered the 55-250mm lens so I can get a bit more close up and the camera itself is a very reasonable price.
First things first, my first mistake was not checking my basket, I bought two of these, second mistake well more of an issue, first set of cameras were left of my doorstep and were ultimately stolen and after numerous calls and chat messages they were replaced even though I said I only wanted one of them replaced but they still sent me two, I spoke to them again concerning this and they said don't worry keep the 2nd camera for free and I had to speak to 3 people to explain no it has been paid for..... NOT HAPPY... Finally after 4 cameras 2 stolen 2 finally delivered after taking a day go work and then having to return the extra camera I was finally happy as I had a camera I wanted. The camera overall is amazing for beginners and the interchangeable lenses are amazing, I have bought more lenses, Not from Amazon as Id worry I wouldn't get them. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CAMERA if you are a newbie photography fan. Also on a side not I walked past my neighbours today and they had an amazon delivery placed under there door mat, wouldn't have been bad if the box was small but the box was quite big so looked like the mat was levitating.
Early days but seems a great piece of equipment, bought it for my wife who is disabled and in a chair to give her something to do and learn about and I think it will be great for that. It seems to work perfectly although we need to explore and learn.
The only concern is that the seal on the box was open, and at some point someone has taken the lens out of its bag - there had been a sticker on the box that had been removed, everything seems fine though, reckon it could have been an ex - display model which is bit disappointing, it wasn’t sold as such, - we’ll see how it goes. Took pictures of it on our phone just in case. - That’s why I’m giving it 2 stars overall.
