4.0 out of 5 starsIt works well for my oily and acne-prone skin

I have genetically oily skin thanks to my parents which means I have large pores and I’m more prone to closed comedones due to clogged pores. I use a setting spray whenever I wear foundation or BB cream otherwise the makeup starts to disintegrate mainly around my oiliest areas like my T-Zone.
The Stay Matte setting spray works really well to mattify and “lock” the makeup in place so it doesn’t look patchy at the end of the day. I use it quite often to “bake” my oily zones. What I do is zealously apply Coty Airspun powder (or any loose powder) to my oily areas, let sit for 10 minutes and then brush off the excess very lightly with a large fluffy brush. I then use a damp beauty blender sprayed with this Stay Matte setting spray to pat down my oily zones. This helps prevent the oil from peeping through and stops the makeup from disintegrating, especially around my nose. I recommend this technique to anyone with oily skin! It is the best way I’ve found so far to retain a mostly matte looking finish.
When I first used this spray it was unbelievably effective... None of my makeup budged for the whole day and kept the matte look the whole time. I thought I had found the holy grail, but after a few more uses after the effects just weren't the same as the first time. It is still a really damn good spray - would have been the perfect setting spray if it stayed consistent after the first time using it.
After years and years of oily skin, I’ve finally found a product that actually works for me. My skin would turn shiny almost instantly after applying makeup and with this product, I stay shine free all day. And my makeup is still in tact as well. My only complaint is that it makes my foundation clump and look cakey. However, my solution has been using the Elf Poreless Face Primer first. Then I apply the Rimmell Stay Matte Primer. After I finish applying my makeup, I use the Rimmell Stay Matte setting spray. So far, that’s worked great for me.
I wasn't expecting much, as my t-zone is usually an oil slick 10 minutes after washing. But I put this on before going to the gym (and sweating hard) and 4 hours later my face is still nice and matte. It wasn't super drying or cake either. Not sure how it will perform when wearing eyeglasses or during the humid summer weather, but it's a generous volume for less than $10 so I am impressed. I will still use Makeup International face-to-face antishine under my brow pencil since it gives the best matte, dry surface but this seems like a good, economical solution for the rest of my face
I have combination skin. If I use this all over my face it looks ashy, dry, and just yikes. If I use this specifically on my oily areas (really just around my eyes) this is a helpful product. Idk if it keeps my makeup on longer but I like how the dry look compares to the oiley (I have noticeable bags under my eyes).
