I wanted to like these. I really did. But the crayon part breaks too easily. If they get dropped or the crayon part breaks within the tube, then that section just falls out through the opening, leaving an empty shell. I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old who drop things a lot. Especially crayons. These just were not a good choice for them. Plus, they don't color as dark as a normal crayon. They are a little waxier so the colors don't show as well. I wouldn't recommend them over regular crayons.
So these SOUND like a great idea--crayons that you don't have to unwrap as you go, or use as tiny stubs? Great!
However, they don't color as vibrantly as I would prefer, and their flat tip shape right out of the box makes for a poor coloring experience. The tip is too ungainly in ANY size space; I found myself coloring outside of the lines a LOT, because you will get comfortable, and underestimate the width of the crayon. While it is true that in use, a typical crayon winds up with a flat tip anyway, I find that it is easier to maintain a pointy crayon tip for tight line work (as with traditional crayons), than it is to create one with a flat-tipped crayon such as these.
Twistable crayons are a great idea; I just wish it had be executed better.
The twistable crayons are a great concept for my almost 3 year old granddaughter and she will love them. The colors are great. Although I wish they would have been packaged better. When I received them all 50 were out of their box and in the packing envelope.
I love them because my toddler does not snap them on accident while coloring, and they are easy to sharpen by twisting when the tips aren’t sharp enough. What I don’t like about this product is that the colors are so dim. My son prefers the regular crayons over these.
I ordered these for my kids along with the twistable colored pencils. The boxes were a little beat up but the pencils and crayons were not damaged. Would have given these 5 stars but the crayons and colored pencils are not labeled to reflect what color is what. So when you get the small pack I guess it’s easy to tell which it red, blue and yellow but with a 50 pack how do you tell difference between blue and cerulean. Bought the big pack to give my kids different options for colors but they can’t tell what color is what. The box has a chart on the back with all the colors that if you kept the crayons in the order they came in it matches the chart so you can tell what color it is. The likelihood of it staying that way are slim to none when you have 3 kids using them so it’s disappointing.
My daughter loves these but they're not worth it to me. The actual crayon is pretty thin so it breaks easily and they are not refillable. I bought these on a whim, they're a novelty but I didn't calculate quite how wasteful they are. I expect more from such big and we'll established company...
Here are some things i noticed about this product: (PROS AND CONS)
CON: After using these crayons they get really smelly. for example On the first day of using these they didn’t smell but starting the second day of using and it had a very weird smell which was very unpleasant.
CON: it’s easily to get out of the lines of what you’re coloring. it can’t color in smaller details. it gets out of lines when trying to fill in smaller details.
PRO: On the positive note i Loved the variety of colors included as well as it is easily twistable without needing to sharpen is which is what this product is meant to do.
I wanted to love these. Great idea, great design……..but…….you can barely see the color. My grandkids kept saying that themselves. Not the vibrancy of regular ole Crayolas I’ve known and loved for several decades.!
Although the crayons SEEM to be okay. the box looked to be VERY old . It seem as if it had been wet at some time and was very soft. There were crayon markings all over the inside and one piece of tape holding the box closed. I don't think Crayola would like their product presented this way.
