As far as technology goes, well, it just ain't so good. It's got a bit of a tinny sound, with very little base, and when you connect an MP3 player to the aux input, there's slight background noise (likely from the radio frequency), so not so crisp, but still "good enough" as a secondary MP3 sound system dock. The radio stations are quite clear, and being a radio first, that's a good thing. All that said, I still totally love it, and I'd buy it again. It's SO utterly beautiful. The lit-up dial, the real wood finish, and those cute replica knobs make it look truly authentic (although the vinyl placemat-like fabric speaker cover is a bit hokey; yet it's still somehow "somewhat" passable). There are some very minor flaws to the workmanship (nothing worth returning it for) which actually lends to the radio's vintage/antique look, so don't expect perfection. If (like me) you're buying it more for looks than for sound, you will NOT be disappointed (which is why I give it 4 stars). If it's for a gift, they likely won't complain and will love it. If, however, you're looking for top-notch high-fidelity, this ain't gonna please ya! All in all, it is what it is, and somewhat overpriced at $135.00 plus taxes, but again, I'd do it again, and I just might (for my other house) 'cause I like it so much!
I really like the look of it. I primarily purchased it for the look and for bluetooth capabilities. The only issues I have is that one of the little plastic cushion/feet were missing so it wobbles. And to turn it on, the button is on the back. It would have made better sense in the front. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with it.
I bought this to use in a room in our country weekend home that we use as a lounge. The look and size are both perfect. Totally the retro look that I wanted, and powerful enough for the space. The speaker itself won't win any audio awards, but its serviceable enough, and the fact that it has an AM/FM radio more than compensates for any issues.
My one problem with the unit is the power button. It's located at the back of the unit which, since I keep it is a perfectly sized cubby hole in an old Mad Men style bar from the 50's, it would mean that I would have to literally remove the speaker from the cubby hole every time I want to use it, or to just leave it on and turn the volume down to zero. I've decided on the latter, but there's no reason why one of those two dials in the front couldn't also control the on/off. One star removed because of that.
Update 4/8/2020 A year later and I still love my speaker. I keep it in my office and I get tons of compliments. The problem I had with sound breaking up has never happened again.
I am totally happy with my purchase! ———————— I bought the speaker a few weeks ago and LOVE it. The sound is great and it looks neat. It's a good conversation piece too. My only complaint is that occasionally the bluetooth sounds starts breaking up. Amazon support walked me through the steps to fix it. So if this happens to you here is what you do. Turn off the machine Remove the device from your phone WHILE the machine is OFF, press the "Radio/BT" button 10 times. (I was skeptical too.) Turn the machine on Re-pair your phone to the device Voila. Sounds great.

The radio looks very nice. I'm using it to listen to AM talk radio, so the FM sound or bluetooth connectivity are features I'm not qualified to review. For AM radio, the sound and tuning are fine. The volume knob should double as the power switch. Placing the power switch on the back is ridiculous. Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't just use an inline switch in the power cord (which would make this one of the most poorly designed desktop radios ever conceived) and save themselves ten cents. The knobs LOOK like the multi-function controls you're probably familiar with, but they're not. There's no "tone" or "balance" or any of that. This is bare-bones circuitry.
Nice wood. Radio has nice bass sound. I like to listen to oldtime radio shows with it. I use it for a computer speaker also. Blue tooth function works good. The dials seem kind of flimsey an d cheap. Would be nice if they had more of a solid feel. The warranty is comforting. They add another year by signing up for emails.
Soooooo.. Can't say much except that it's quite a big radio. Great for gifting it to someone except I misread the info and plugged it into a 220V... Bye bye radio bye bye money... My dad was disappointed.
