Stick to fans from Ac/infinity not filtration. Right out of the box, the filter was dented in several places. Nothing big, but for a new item...it should be pristine. Next....out of the bag, a crap load...i mean a whole lot of carbon dust fell out....in addition to what was already in the bottom of the bag. The 6 inch filter does not fit on to any of the 6 inch fans I have. The flange on the filter is about 1/2 inch wide. This had to be solved with a lining of duct tape to seal the gap. You could connect the fan and filter with ducting, but I've never had to do that due to an ill fitting flange. Sure...they dropped the price for this filter by almost $100 but still...its now competing with the likes of vivosun and the generic suppliers who provide a better quality product. Don't buy this. Get another one from another more quality conscious supplier.
Compared the the same size phresh filter for 30% more money... I will take the more expensive phresh filter hands down. I Installed this yesterday when my phresh filter started to let some smell through after almost 2 years of steady use... This morning, outside my house, I can absolutely smell what I'm paying to not smell through the brand new filter.
I bought this 6" can back in April. Never got around to using it until August. It looks very well built, I have several Ac infinity fans that work well. My dissatisfaction comes from after 1 month of use with the 6" cloudline fan it's leaking out charcoal. It's covered the inside of my fan and left a nice dusting across my grow room. Of course the return window is closed so this is one bad decision I have to live with and bought a different brand to replace.
First order of an AC Infinity duct filter and straight away disappointed. Odors are not filtered to a level that you instantly smell what you shouldn't. First I thought the flanges do not seal tight enough so I used an o-ring ... to no avail. Next I flipped the flanges as described in the user guide ... again to no avail. I noticed that the smell came out on the same side even with flanges switched. So I looked at the char coal filling from the outside and it appears to be not tight enough packed. There are indentations in the char coal filling and exactly there the air circumvents the char coal. Really disappointed since it comes with so many recommedations ... . I Don't think I will order these filters again!
