To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I upgraded from the Yamaha rxa3050 and although it improved my music quality I must admit that it wasn't a night and day difference. Looking back I think I should have just used an external amplifier along with my rxa 3050 and archived close to the same quality of music as I am now experiencing with this processor. Yes it has improved my music but I think it's more because of the amp rather than the processor but it is a great piece of equipment and I am enjoying it. Overall, I am happy with it. The main problem with this processor is how inferior the surround stage is especially for movies. The ambient or background sound effects is so lacking that I can hardly recommend it for home theater. For music however it does a fine job as long as you don't play 2 channels stereo. I like to music cast and the ease of use. A good processor but far from great. Yamaha customer SUPPORT is almost always bad as it gets. One bright spot; Yamaha makes some of the most durable products.
