It was a pleasant surprise to receive the speakers in two weeks instead of the anticipated six weeks plus! They were well packaged and the sound quality is perfect to replace the previous speakers in my sleep headphone.
These came well packaged. The earpieces were snug in a little foam piece and the whole thing came in one of those silver antistatic electronics bags. The are thin and soft and really comfortable. I bought them as a replacement to go in the band for a different brand headphones that did not hold up that long. The braided cord is nice although I wish it were a little thicker. Sound quality is pretty good. I haven't had them long enough to really tell about durability yet.
Update: Nice while they lasted. Unfortunately they only lasted around 5 months before the cord got messed up and the audio started cutting out every time the cord moves. Since my headphones always seem to short at the end where they plug in, it would be great if one day someone would design these headphones where you can replace the end with an aux cable and not have to throw away the whole thing. ...or just make a more durable cable to begin with.
I originally bought a pillow with speakers built into the pillow. Really didn't like giving up the pillow I'm used to, and the placement of the speakers was not ideal. So, I bought these Ultra Thin Pillow Speakers without the headband. I have been placing them underneath the pillowcase and attaching the cord to my iPhone. The cord is plenty long to put the phone on the nightstand. The speakers are best heard with your ear directly over them. I'm a side sleeper, so every time I turn over I have to find the spot right on or very close to the speaker to hear it softly. I'm using these, not for bedtime stories, but for a tinnitus retraining program that I am undergoing, where constant sound, even softly, and even at night, is important right now to get my brain thinking differently about the tinnitus sounds that are constant. So far, these are good. They're very inexpensive, so I don't have too much faith in the longevity of them. But, if I had to replace them every few months or so that wouldn't be too big a deal. I am still considering getting the headband, but at first didn't think I could handle sleeping with that thing on. So, my only opinion can be about the speakers themselves, which put out sufficient enough volume under the pillowcase with the ears pretty directly over the speakers, the cables I try to place as out of the way as possible, and make the best of it all.
Like a little kid, this 70 y.o. likes to fall asleep being read to. So I listen to a lot of audiobooks. I've tried dozens of pillow speakers and head wrap speakers over the years. None were really comfortable or the audio quality was so bad I couldn't understand my book. These speakers are the greatest. Comfortable to lay my head on and amazing audio for their size. BTW, it may not look like it but there is a right side up. I though one of the speaker was broken then accidentally, found it was facing the wrong way.
Purchased these headphones on April 6, 2019....threw them away on May 12, 2019. I find this interesting as the ‘warranty is 30 DAYS’. The cord began shorting out on May 6th and I could only hear from one speaker....annoying to say the least. I use these for sleeping as my brain needs white noise to settle down. I used Firik headphones (1 yr warranty) but they were not available when I needed to replace them after almost 2 years (23 months vs 1 month). I settled on this brand based on reviews but my experience if quite different from others. Pros: nice long cord, and the plug fits into the radio I use. CONS: 1 month use then the cord shorted out leaving me with one working speaker, larger than Firik brand. So manufacturer this is for you....STRENGTHEN THE CORD CONNECTION WHERE IT ATTACHES TO THE PLUG. FIRIK HAD PROBLEMS LIKE THIS AND REENGINEERED THEIR PRODUCT TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM....IT WAS MUCH STRONGER.
Ours last a few months. That means we're running a 60.00/ year bill year over year to use them. SO we are looking for another solution now.
What's the problem? I opened them up to find out. What I found was the wires which connect this thing to your phone are the thickness of a human hair. Soon enough, they break. At first one side of the speaker only works when you have them positioned "just so" then it gets worse, then both sides, then both stop completely.
Not sure about using Bluetooth to get around this thin wire problem so we are looking at other solutions.
In general, if things seem to be designed poorly and you have to buy them over and over again, it's not a good idea to reward the manufacturer for their bad design, right? I would link to something better, but I am still looking .
I will update this in a few months and let you know what we decided on and how it worked out.
