To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Good Fantasy Story, worth a read. This set of books is more likely aimed for the younger teen market and adults who like pure fantasy with no heat or gore. The idea's and creativity in these books are really good and the writers skill allows you to easily picture everything clearly. This is an enjoyable storey and well worth a read
If more fantasy was like this, I would read the genre more often! Captivating characters, and intriguing world, and most importantly, and adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat and staying up way to late to keep reading. I’ll be reading more from this author.
I just received is today and was disappointed to discover this was one huge book. The description uses the words boxed set so I didn't realize all four books were bound together in on book. I had hoped to have the child be able to have 4 separate books. I hope it is not too daunting for him to try. Also the front cover was bent backwards so it looks damaged and not new. I cannot comment on the content as it is a gift. I am disappointed.
13 year old who is an avid reader said the first book was written like an extended prologue instead of a book. She said it was “pretty good” but she said she thinks they put all the books into one otherwise no one would buy the next two after reading the first. That said, she enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd books more than the first. She will read almost anything, but expects a lot, so read other reviews too.
