It's a vitamin, so it is hard to tell if it is doing the job it is suppose to do. I got this for my mother, and she has not had any UTIs, but that does not mean the vitamin is prevent them from occurring. She didn't take the vitamin for a few weeks and had no UTIs during that period. I think it gives her comfort taking this vitamin. If that is the case, it is worth it.
I bought this product once and was satisfied. Now that the bottle is empty, I’ve made a different choice for my next purchase.
This product contains cranberry as a whole fruit, which is my preference whenever possible. It also contains Vitamin C as ascorbic acid. I take Vitamin C separately, as a whole fruit, and don’t particularly want to need the ascorbic acid. The vitamin C results in a dosage of two capsules rather than one.
After searching for a whole alternative without ascorbic acid, I chose this, also on Amazon.
Puritan's Pride One A Day Cranberry Capsules, 120Count
The same ingredients The potency is slightly lower, but plenty high enough for me.
With Subscribe and Save, both work out to $.07 per pill. At first glance, they are the same price. However, with the difference in serving size, that means the Puritan’s Pride a bit over is half the price.
Amazon - Your delivery driver left this on the front steps! Less than a yard from the unlocked mail room door, ( it's in the incriminating photo they took). How uncaring, anyone could have seen and stolen them! I won't ever use your online pharmacy for my prescriptions! Not if your drivers are this careless. Can't afford to have my medicine stolen.
Product Review - I spent hours researching for a Cranberry supplement stronger than Azo, which no longer works for me. This is more concentrated and higher strength. Hopefully it will help with my Chronic painful bladder spasms, that are unrelated to UTI's although they are as effective against UTI's the same way AZO is. I read the descriptions, ingredients, customer comments and questions on as many cranberry sup0lements as I could find. These seemed to be the best fit for effectiveness and price. Now I will make a 2 months trial to see how they work out for me. Then I can make an add note on how they work for me!
Normally I don't have problems, but the other day I literally burped up powder. I had taken it maybe 30 mins before and when I burped the powder inside of the little capsules came back up. It tasted absolutely disgusting and burned my throat for a solid hour afterward. Other than that I have never had any problems and I will continue taking them, but I will take them with food as the bottle directs.
They seem pretty good so far. I bought them to lower my risk of yeast infections/UTIs because I am really prone to them. I've only used the capsules for a few days now but I'll update if I start to feel like they are not working. I just wanted to mention that the capsules are pretty hard to swallow for me. They are slippery, and always end up turning sideways when I swallow them and it kind of hurts my throat. This makes me really reluctant to take them every day. For anyone that has trouble with large/slippery pills, just a warning that these might not be the best choice. I think I might look for something that has a rounder shape next time.
I'd barely noticed getting old, but I could definately tell there is a huge difference using these instead of a common brand of gummies labeled cranberry sup from Walmart I tried. Not as expensive as some others that do give results, but don't tell them yet, some of us need the fair lower expense while getting our bladders and kidneys in order. lol
