Great sound, comfortable for long sessions. I use the largest ear tips included in the box for my big ears, and they're perfect.
They're also very light - I can barely feel them in my ears while I'm using them. The cables are the perfect length for me to lift my Quest onto my forehead and they don't tug at all (and I have a big head - at the absolute cusp of the Quests IPD range). Unfortunately this makes them feel fragile in hand, and I'm very worried for their longevity. They seem robust however, and only time will tell if my fears are just or not.
THE ONLY ISSUES I have with these, over a set of over-ear headphones, is the constant 'fuzz' or 'buzz' you can hear from them. I currently have a sinus infection and am more sensitive to it but it's driving me nuts in a quiet menu or a quiet game. This is just an earbuds thing though and will happen with any earbuds so not gonna take big points away for it, just be aware that it exists. It's soft, but while in a quiet scene, it's noticeable.
Important to note also is that if they're plugged in already when you boot up the Quest, they aren't recognised. Unplugging them and replugging them in once the Quest is on is the fix. Small, but I feel like this is more of a Quest issue than an earbuds issue.
- Sound: Sound quality is good. Highs & mids seem to sparkle whereas bass seems punchy but not muddy. - Comfort: With the included 3 styles of ear padding I find the mid sized ear pads to seal off outside sound well & be comfortable for long play sessions. This is completely subjective though & others may need to try the other included sizes. - Price: The price is a bit lofty here & other options may be a better purchase from third parties. - Verdict: Over-all a decent pair of earbuds from Oculus designed specifically for the Quest. Sound is good but I wouldn't consider these "Audiophile" grade earbuds. Sound isolation & privacy is the goal here for more immersive & less intrusive VR sessions & these do just that. Comfort at least for me personally, has been great. All this said, the price is a tad steep here & other options are available.
Relatively expensive, with good (not phenomenal) sound. Provides for a more isolated experience and improved overall (primarily bass) sound. Depending upon what you are doing it is worth having these. If you are playing with friends use the built-in headset speakers so that everyone can hear what is going on. If you want privacy/isolation and improved sound - use these instead. Overall satisfied.
I thought it would fit in both ears, that there was a hole so you could use both of the earbuds included. That is apparently not the case and there is only one port on the left side for it. I suppose that adds safety, but it was disappointing. You can hear well out of one ear.
This product does what you would expect: you are immersed in a VR headset without hearing outside noise. The reason this is 4/5 stars is because the product is restricted to use on the headset because each cord is for a single ear and because of the in-ear design, you won't want to share the earphones with other users of your headset.
