To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I am pretty bummed because the reviews were so great for this product. I have had other dash cams before and I felt this one was below average. First off, it doesn't come with a micro SD card. You have to buy it and on top of that, format it to work with your dash cam. And THEN, continue formatting every so often. I've never had to do any of that. My other dash cams (which I had given to family members) always came with all the parts I need. They don't even make it obvious that you need a micro SD card on the description. The camera quality was eh. I tested it out and drove around and the camera wasn't quite as wide as I had hoped, so capturing lateral accidents would be a challenge. Lastly, the rear dash cam is intended to be affixed on the OUTSIDE of the car?? Again, my other dash cam rear came were all designed to be placed on the rear window from inside. Plus, if you have a back up camera, it wouldn't work. Placing the rear dash cam on the outside of your car not only requires a professional to install it, but also......if someone hits the back of your car...that camera is getting destroyed. All in all, it's a medicore product that could certainly do a decent job at capturing footage in front of you, but you'll have to pay extra for the Micro SD AND installation. Not worth it to me.
The setup is fantastic! I love this dash camera. But when I'm recording footage, why doesn't the rear camera capture any footage. I can see both working, but when I review the footage, only the front camera records. I got this because I thought they would both be recording. Has anyone else had this problem? I'll change my review and make it 4 or 5 stars if I can get help on this please!
No night vision... bummer. A tad of a job to install the back camera ( 3hrs to figure it out on a F150). You have to route it via the top molding, disconnect the back seat, etc.. (youtube is ur friend).... It records and the pic is ok, but I cant get it to record on the back cam, even though I can see it (pic in pic) on the small screen. The instructions suck, so you have to figure out how to program it... and I’m still trying to. I’m leaving it in the truck due to ALL the sweat equity I put into it, but I wouldn’t buy it again. Don’t believe all the positive hyped up reviews. A used GoPro would be just as good and easier to use.
Installed this a couple weeks ago, is bulkier and obtrusive than looks. The rear camera sticker doesn't last more than 1 day so it fell down and not sure what to do about it.
Most importantly, this thing DRAINED MY CAR BATTERY, leaving my car completely unusable until I get a new battery. It stays plugged in through your cigarette lighter input, but it is actually draining battery for the motion sensor! Do not buy this POS unless you drive your car every day to charge the battery. They should refund me this but it's past the return window. $60 device now adds an additional $100+ for a new battery!
Let me start by saying, yes its my fault for not reviewing the item closely before I started to install it. With that said, I started to install the item, I couldn't get the camera to stay on for more then a few mins as others have said. I purchased a hard wired kit, install it, tried the camera, no go. Frustrated I used the cig adapter, it powered on, so I cut the adapter to be hard wired, bad idea. After I did this the camera would not power on when car power was on. Ok, started to look closer at main camera, there was no manufacturer film on the camera back, strange, looked closer and there where scratches on the screen. SOAB! Looked at the rear camera, the mounting film had been part way removed as well. They are selling used returned cameras! Buyer beware don't waste your money with this company!!!! So I cant return the item for a refund.
I’m sorry for the low score but Amazon doesn’t have a “yo I have an issue” button. This is the only way I can expect feedback mg apologies.
I read another user on feedback had a similar issue. The recording stops after a short period of time, maybe one hour total recording and will stop recording you can see visually the camera is on but not recording.
Yes. I’ve formatted on the camera and on the computer every format that can be done alone with Mac and PC formatting. Went as far as purchase another brand of memory card and still happens. So let me go into more detail I reset everything to default settings Don’t change anything and press record. About an hour in recording it will stop I have to reformat on the camera then re-record again to work.
I’ve bought a new card. Formatted in Mac and PC. Rebooted Swapped cards different brand
I just want it to record and loop as necessary. My investment was for reasons of other faulty drivers. Please a replacement unit or something and I’ll change my review.
Had high hopes after reading the reviews. The one I received would turn off after a short time driving. If I hit a bump, it would turn back on. Purchased for the parking sensor feature, but I wouldn't hardwire this device to my car.
I never write reviews this camera was the worst I bought it so I could have parking protection the sensor doesn't even work the camera turns off and doesn't even record my full driving session I even purchased a expensive SD card made by Samsung especially for dash cameras and they said that I need to purchase something of higher quality for it to work, non sense, if you want something really really cheap you get what you pay for if not spend extra cash and protect your car. I don't recommend this camera.
It says it happens night vision but it does not have night vision that is total crap there is no night vision with this camera........ and second a 32GB memory card only gives you about 35 minutes of the recording time that is just not acceptable for a dash cam most dash cams give you a lot more than that.........
