I am a competitive swimmer (ocean / Pool) and mostly wear this cap for workouts rather than competitions. This is my first cap of this material. Have had it less than 1 month of use. So far, I like the comfort and the fit and the feel. I don't have long hair so that is not an issue. It's more comfortable than silicone and latex and easy to put on and take off without pulling off my hair. But...will it last? This is my question...will this cap with the fully functional elastic band hold up in salt and chlorine water longer than 6 months+? Other than this question I am pleased with the product thus my review.
I swim a lot and protecting my bald top from the sun is critically important. Are use lotions also but this covers the most exposed part of my head. It stays on extremely comfortably. I’ve used them in the ocean for body surfing and never had any feeling it would come loose. I Mabel to keep it above my ears so I can hear. It works great with goggles or glasses. They look great. I just hang them on the hook when I’m not using them and they are dry the next time I need them. I’m going to need more because I leave them in my car or at my house so two is not enough.
I've tried other lycra and latex but this swim cap is the last I hope to ever need. I've only had it a few months but it is comfortable, fits my long, thick hair with ease, is easy to put on and take off, and is far superior to other lycra and latex. Highly recommended product.
I bought the cap to keep my head warm during aquatic exercises as the weather gets cooler. My shoulders and head are out of the water and when they get wet, brrr because the air isn't that warm. Since I'm not actually swimming, my short hair stays dry. I tried the cap for lap swimming but can't use it with my current earplugs because of the stub that sticks out for inserting the earplugs. The cap dislodges the plugs so I immediately get water in my ear. I finally have earplugs that don't leak and now I have to search for some that are flatter in the ear. I gave 5 stars because the cap fits well and didn't promise that earplugs won't leak.
I swam competitively many (many many) years ago, and used to use latex swim caps plied with baby powder for practice. It was harsh on the hair and left triple indents on my forehead, which was super attractive. I recently joined a gym with a pool and purchased this cap to get back into swimming (a lot less) laps. Obviously this cap is permeable, but I find that it's comfortable and stays put. My sweet forehead indent goes away faster, too. When it came to swimming, I was never a winner, but this cap is!
I like this so much better than my latex or whatever it was. That one pulled my hair and would slowly work its way off as a swam in my swim spa. This does not do that and the groovy orange color allows me to root for my favorite team, the Cleveland Browns, while I swim! Go Browns!
I was a competitive swimmer and have used both latex and fabric caps before. The spandex caps are so much more comfortable than rubbery latex or silicone which pulls the hair, even if it's more water proof. The Firesara Lycra Swim Cap is easy to put on and take off, no pulling the hair or ripping it out, and no uncomfortable squeezing my head as I swim. It's long enough to pull down over my ears and didn't mess with my ear plugs too much. I have hair down past my shoulder blades and it went over my hair easily! Overall this is a very nice swim cap and I love the blue color!
