To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The blurb is accurate - yes, it is a contemporary reworking of the storyline from 'You've Got Mail'. The heroine is impossible to believe - heads the class in studies, captains the swim team, bakes - and , in a nod to modernity - tweets for the family business. And as though these demands on a teenage girl were not outlandish enough, she crushes on the instrument of her humiliation. I read the book hoping for a comfort read in the 'cute'. I ended up uncomfortable and disturbed at the stereotype flung at YA , posed as the ideal to aspire to.
