It's not a bad headset but for a little bit more I should have bought the Cooler Master Pulse MH750. The reason for this is because I've only had this headset for less than a month but the detachable microphone has already stopped working, I do unplug it often but I always tried to make sure that it sat secure in my backpack.
That is very unfortunate durability and even if this is a "budget" headset, it still is quite expensive in comparison with many other headsets readily available on Amazon and with Prime shipping, I paid a slight premium excpecting more premium quality but I guess I was wrong.
I tried contacting Steelseries directly through Amazon before having to write this review but I couldn't find anywhere to contact them, so I might have to e-mail their support to either get a replacement part or a refund.
This is a shame really as I really liked how convinient this headset was to use for me, it plugged into all my devices and I am able to take it everywhere, and the mic is actually really high quality but it apparently stops working if u unplug it too much, just a heads up!
This was my first time getting stereo headphones for gaming. I preferred mono chat with my surround system. After going through 4 Xbox headsets in a year I wanted a better investment. I was skeptical that headphones could compare to my high end home audio system.
I was pleasantly surprised on how much more I can hear footsteps playing first person shooters without the neighborhood hearing me playing War lol I chose these BC of the comfort and they had a mid range sound stage, not overly bass heavy. I find a bit of distortion if I have them loud and there is a ton of guns and explosions simultaneously. It's rare and I haven't been bothered by it yet. Bass is more than ample, I don't need bass driven directly into my ears. I found the highs weren't decent, wasn't tinny or too high, in fact I wanted a tiny bit more treble. When listening to music I was really surprised on how well they sounded, I tried a variety such as rap, metal, EDM and live accoustic. The accoustic guitar was really picked up well and the way tones sounded really good. I will definitely be listening to music with these as well.
The microphone is loud and clear, good background noise cancelling.
**One note is check your headset volume on your Xbox settings BC it's default to 1/2 volume. I thought something was wrong at first, adjusted that and amazing!👍**
Headphones are just good, i use it mainly for gaming. The microphone is good, nobody complained about the sound from mic. They are pretty comfortable and nicely block sound from outside plus you can use them even for smartphone calls or you can unplug the mic and use them just to liten to music from phone or mp3 player or whatever but the speakers are poor quality like for the price I had better sound in my previous few years old and way cheaper Esperanza which they replace due to unfortunate accident. As the cord, hmm I think it looks pretty weak so you have to be careful with the cable.
To sum up if you are looking for good and functional headphones then yes if you are a music lover and looking for exceptional headphones with nice sound and good bass then dfinitely no.
it's simply the best budget headset I've owned since Sennheiser HD201. it's lightweight and comfy: tight enough to mute any noise around, but not too tight, so I can wear it a few hours in a row without any discomfort (my head and ears are bigger than average, so usually it's a problem with most headphones). And it sounds really good, I don't hear any difference from more expensive ones: no distortion, no buzzing, no muffling. The mic quality is good, people hear me nice and clear.
Overall a decent product. Don't expect wonders from it. Sound wasn't great out of the box. Had to tweak a lot of things. Only to realise the volume on the headset itself was set to very low. After increasing it, it was fine. Decent stereo sound for FPS BR games.
Setting up the mic was a major headache. No instructions and doesnt work out of the box. No proper community support. It works great sometimes and doesnt. Disappointed with the mic really. Stopped playing team because of this. But still better than the Razer TE ones I tried.
Amazing value for price sound is absolutely great who knew 40 bucks could buy such a great headset. I use these for pc gaming I've heard the sound isn't as good on console and the sound sound doesn't sound great when I plug it into my phone. But for gaming their great I can easily distinguish when a player is above or below me to the left or the right so simple to setup aswell my grandma could figure out so yh really great product. They look decent aswell can't expect too much considering the price however if you are not on a budget go wireless everythings just way more neater with a wireless set of headphones. But the wire for the headset is really long which is good and the overall headset is nice and sturdy Steel series dont disappoint trust.
