To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Not the cheapest CPU out there, but it's worth it when you have a weak setup to begin with. My i7-3770 and GTX 1060 6GB was just not really talking and once I upgraded to DDR4 with the Ryzen 5 3600, all my games suddenly worked on Ultra settings at a clean 60fps across the board! Please note, I bought 16GB ram to go with this, your experience may differ.
Not too sure what to say except, initially everything worked fine then i started having many different issues, my setup was x470 mb and r5 3600. I had to reinstall windows 10 3 times (bearing in mind i have 20+ years software/hardware experience) and really could not understand "why" the only logical explanation was compatibility with windows?? This is my personal experience and implies nothing detrimental towards AMD after all I have used them for 20 years, buying 95% of my components from Amazon - BUT decided, regardless of benchmarks to give Intel a go, ie i7 9700-Happy
Very powerful CPU but does run hot on boot this baby idles at 60c admittedly this could be due to my installation of cpu fan and the fact the stock fan isn't great but managed to get it down to 55c with some mobo setting and setting windows performance mode to balanced would recommend but might have heat issues.
I clearly didnt win the CPU lottery, because the best setting i can achieve a stable system, is at 3.9GHz clock, barely a fraction above the default setting, and no where near the advertised 4.2 Ghz. Can't fault the value for money, for what is a really decent processor.
This is a great upgrade from my ageing 4th gen i5 system. My one complaint is that i would invest in a better cooler since the included one isn’t up to the challenge. Even with no overclock, the CPU easy hits 90°C at full load.
It does a serviceable job, but could have been better. First, I didn't expect a new board to come in a cardboard box that looked like it had been stepped in. Also, I didn't expect a board sold in October 2019 to still have a BIOS version from June 2019.
Some more issues: 1) IO shield has some fit and finish issues. 2) NVMe SSD (Samsung 970 EVO) not recognized on M.2-1 Slot. It was only recognized once I put it in the M.2-2 Slot, which is only PCIe 2.0 x2. Kinda defeats the purpose of having PCIe 4.0. 3) Corsair Vengeance RAM (rated at 3200 MHz, CL16) could only run at 2666 MHz. 4) The VRM heat sink gets in the way of installing the stock Wraith Prism Cooler.
I know Points 2) and 3) could probably been 'solved' with a BIOS update, but I've had some issues the past few years with boards (1x MSI, 1x AsRock) getting bricked.
Here are some pros: 1) Quite a few RGB headers. 2) Decent temperatures at load (stock).
It's a serviceable x570 board. But maybe wait a bit for the B550 boards that have better value and ironed-out firmware.
