Don't ever buy this motherboard, we know it's one of the cheapest but trust me asus messed up with this one. They put the voltage for the ram and CPU way too high per default and the DOCP dosen't work at all. I updated the bios and nothing has changed. I return this mobo and go with Gigabyte instead.
I recommend to put a little more money and buy a better one.
Upgrading from a Asus Striker II from 2008. This board appealed to me because it was right to the point and no frills. Was very excited to get it and install my Ryzen 9 x3900 cpu and 32 gigs of DDR 4. When I received it and open the box it looked as it was just tossed in there with no packaging materials at all. Well it booted up fine. I Familiarized my self with bios and I performed a upgrade via the EZ bios update utility. After that it was down hill. The board was stuck on the ASUS "TUF" splash screen. Took out the cmos battery, un plugged every thing and nada. Was on the forums related to this mobo and quite a few folks have experienced this issue after a bios update. Not really happy about this. I'm returning this item and trying another X570 mobo. I really wanted to like this board.
No RAM recognition, not any display, no any of BIOS beeps (listed on manual page 2-15) and no matter what components I remove or add, the OnBoard LED Orange DRAM is ALWAYS on (suggesting a RAM issue, however the RAM is a HyperX 2x8GB DDR4 3200Hz brand new)
Tried different RAM configurations (tried putting them in different slots as well as individual) and remove all non-essential hardware but no success, the result is always the same: OnBoard Orange LED is always on I even tried running the system without BIOS and that LED stills on.
Already contacted Amazon Support and they suggest the best is to return the item.
What a disappointment even though I was confident because previous reviews (and in the Wifi Version reviews as well), months waiting for this build for this motherboard to fail.
I got this motherboard because it was an ASUS motherboard. It did not need to have a boot kit from AMD to post. It is Gen 3 ready. I installed it... First issue was Windows 10 said it was not registered. Second issue was in the BIOS i had to disable FAST BOOT and make all USBs Legacy compatible. Third issue was that when Windows 10 installed it would loop at the: Initializing Devices... Called Asus tech support and got no help after 4 days trying. Their last response from the motherboard techs was: call Microsoft cause we can't help with Windows, or send it back and get a new motherboard. Again the reason why I got this motherboard was because it was an Asus brand and I assumed that Asus from when they started was the same Asus as today. Well it could be a great motherboard or not, I will never know cause I sent it back and got an MSI instead. Thanks for nothing ASUS and good riddance.
I was so excited for this motherboard. I just bought a new Ryzen 5 3600 and decided to upgrade my motherboard along with it.
I've had 2 other motherboards in my current system prior to this one, and both have worked great! (MSI and ASrock)
*Disclaimer I NEVER mess with any of my BIOS settings, I leave at defaults to minimize the risk of failure.
This motherboard installed fine, booted into BIOS fine and even booted into Windows 10 correctly. It found and downloaded the drivers needed, but the Audio was still very glitchy. (crackling on speakers, wouldn't recognize an audio USB device I had plugged in) So I re-installed all of the drivers from the official motherboard driver page, which caused it to work a little bit better, although it still couldn't pick up my USB audio.
I have a 27 in Dell Gaming Monitor (155Hz). The first thing I noticed was the Refresh rate wasn't pushing to the monitor. It showed 155 in windows display properties. When I would boot into windows it would take 1-2 min of lagging, then all screens would kick to black, if I was lucky, it would show my desktop again and then the refresh rate would be good. If I was unlucky it would BSOD with a VGA error and reboot.
I have 3 120MM RGB fans for my water cooler. At random, when I boot up and log into windows, they will flicker incredibly fast (not an RGB preset) and it's very obvious they are malfunctioning. The only remedy I've found is to reboot and cross my fingers.
I ended up COMPLETELY re-installing Windows 10 from scratch, hoping that it was the cause of the issues I had never had before with other motherboards.
It did not resolve any of the above issues, all issues listed stayed persistent.
At this point out of complete and utter frustration, I started a return with Amazon. I've built computers for 20 years and I've NEVER had one be this dysfunctional out of the box.
ASUS, I'm sorry. After this experience I won't be buying or recommending any of your products in the future.
It did not work. I bought it after great reviews but unfortunately it was DOA. It gave me a blinking light for CPU error. I replaced the board with another ASUS (ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING) bought locally from Microcenter and my rig was humming...My one start though is for the frustration of troubleshooting. Asus is a great brand I have always relied upon and it will take many failures for me to quit using them.
