To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The box was the X570 Plus but when I opened it up there was just the x570 standard mother board without the Wifi. The thing that frustrates me is that it's such a tedious process to send products back from where I live so now I'm better off just ordering another x570 plus from another vendor which is another couple hundred dollars..
There is no way to flash bios without a compatible CPU. If you are building with a new Zen3 Ryzen 5000 series cpu, you MUST have an older chip to update the bios. Asus support will refer you AMD for a loaner chip, if you want to wait.
Either spend $100 more on another Asus board or buy Gigabyte or MSI, whose products carry the Flashback equivalent. You have been warned!
I gave an extra star because Asus support responded very quickly, even though the news was particularly disappointing.
The BIOS that this motherboard supports is not great for optimizing the Ryzen 5 3600 that I have, and after looking on forums, I am not the only one. It seems to try to increase it's performance by always boosting the CPU. Without me overclocking, the CPU was at a consistent 4.1GHZ. The base clock speed is 3.6GHZ. And therefore, my CPU temp was idling at 50-60 degrees, when gaming going to 80-90s. I had to do a lot of adjustments in the bios and on Ryzen Master to make the CPU not run so hard, but the best I could get is idling at 45 degrees. I have a friend who has the same build as me but a different motherboard and it runs 32 degrees idling.
Bought this motherboard for my first pc build and i thought it wouldve been a great fit for my setup. After getting the BIOS to come up and work perfectly normal, not even 30 minutes later after a few reboots I was welcomed by the white led error on the board itself (VGA Error). After hours of removing brand new parts that i ordered with it and reslotting RAM into any configuration i could there was no hope. even used the jumpers that came with it to attempt to clear the CMOS and even popped out the mobo battery and still no luck. I got lucky one time after fiddling around with some wires to get the BIOS to pop up once but to be sure i fixed it i rebooted the system and now im back at square one. I'd avoid this motherboard for now until they release a real fix or just go with another one entirely. I'll be sending this one back since the motherboard literally doesnt work at all, it might be the PSU but im fairly sure its the mobo since my PSU is 550W which was good enough for the build. Im probably going to get a quick refund on this mobo and go with a better MSI Mobo and replace my GPU RTX 2070 super just in case.
The board seemed to be OK for about two hours after which it failed to boot. A memory error was flagged by the on board diagnostics using known good memory. I returned the board and purchased a Strix X570-F which works great. When working it might be fine.
