The housing is a few millimetres too tight for the sensor bridge. This isn’t advertised anywhere in the listing. Given how popular the sensor bridges are now this is a huge oversight. I had to use duct tape to fit them together and make a seal. Because of how I did it it’s not noticeable but it’s still a design flaw. Also the way it’s housed severely muffled the microphone making it not useable for voice
I wanted to like it! I even had plans to use clear silicone for all the edges to make it waterproof but this product did not take into account the USB add on for wyze that is an extra $20 door, window and motion sensor kit apparently the notch in the inside back compartment sticks out too much to close the case, not compatible to wyze! This is an incomplete product and should of played attention to wyze production line of addons. Especially the areas wyze has addons that are part of its product line. Remind you that these sensors are from wyze themselves and it is sold separately but is recommended for doors, windows and motion sensing, the reason why they seperate it is because some people have ADT or surveillance companies already installed so still this company should of considered the sensors. Incomplete product makes this a fail.
If you install it upright, there is a small piece of plastic that prevents you from pointing the camera more than 15 degrees downwards. I needed to install these on the top of my fence, with the screws going down into the lattice and this flaw made them unusable. Also a little leery of how well the plastic would have held up to the elements over the years. Go metal if possible instead, these felt a little flimsy, unreliable.
The case is in two halves just like it shows in the picture, and so you can see that the split line is right down the middle all the way around the camera. The problem is, there is no gasket! This might be ok for splashes or under a roof eave, but definitely not in sustained rain. completely not satisfactory.
My wyze cam quit. It is mounted in this weather proof housing but it filled full of water as it is outside. There is no drain hole for the moisture to drain out so i made one. No more problems. Because you can not unplug the power cord from the camera in this housing it is hard to install.
