I see the issue with other users about incompatibility with the sensor bridge. However the listing doesn’t mention whether it does or not so that’s up for interpretation. As of this review I haven’t seen any mounts (fully enclosed) that are compatible since the sense connectors are a newer add-on. I bought the full sense kit with my Wyze camera along with this mount without reading the reviews. However after searching through amazon without any luck on a compatible mount I decided to modify this one to work. I simply took a dremel with a cutting disc and sliced the protruding nub on the inside of the housing and added some epoxy to keep the nut from sliding off. I left enough threading for the mount to secure but it’s short enough for the enclosure to fully close. Not the most elegant solution but I didn’t have time to wait for someone to release a sense compatible mount. For $10 I was willing to hack it up.
I installed one of these today, and was really impressed with the construction and easy install. I did not test the "outdoor" nature of the camera housing (IP6 ?) as it is indoors. It appears it would work just fine in my opinion but it does not have any gaskets. A recess in the housing... would probably be sufficient I think. A drip loop would probably help the cable where it installs into the back of the housing if you are inclined to install outside.
Hardware was sufficient for my purposes and was easy to put together and mount. Does not look bad in my opinion either. I chose this mount style (there is another that I thought looked nice as well that uses the existing mount that slides into a more flush mount) because it would work with both the Wyzecam II and the pan/tilt camera in the event I wanted to change them up. That way I could keep the same mount and reduce all of the holes in my walls.
I can verify that the mount does indeed work with pan/tilt (without the wyze cam "snap together mount" for that particular camera). I believe the mount and pan/tilt camera use a standard 1/2"-20 thread (or at least they are both the same if not in this case).
I had a review removed because I said something "worked out of the box".
This mount worked out of the box for me, without any added hardware or alterations. That is what "out of the box means" for those not handy of have no idea what exactly that means. Often products require you to alter or buy additional screws to make them work. This did not. It did indeed... work out of the box. Go figure Amazon?
I bought this brand of Wyze Cam enclosure because I had 3rd party usb power cables (longer ones and not flat) to plug into the back of the camera and the way the notch is designed on the back of the enclosure allows for those cables to fit unlike other brands that have you route the cable 90 degrees down and out the bottom. I was able to orient the cameras to any position I needed without issue once mounted. They are provide adequate protection to the camera without interfering with the night vision features. I had used a Wyze cam outside for about a year without a case and it did fine so this takes it one step further. The improvement here is that I can now orient the camera however I want and do not have depend on on the camera magnet to keep it mounted firmly. The only improvement I would suggest is a way to provide a better seal where the cable comes out. You can just add your own foam or a dab of caulk for a DIY solution. Overall, this product matches my expectations at this price point.
If it was possible, I would give the enclosures a 4.5. They fit the cameras perfectly; have good adjustability; are expected to provide adequate weather protection; and came with the necessary hardware for typical installations. I would deduct a half-point because the design of the base could be improved. My installation was onto brick and I wanted to mount the cameras using a 3M double-sided tape instead of drilling holes. As designed, the back of the base is not solid and the lip is too narrow to provide adequate contact surface for the tape. My solution was to 3D print a solid backing plate and attach that to the camera enclosure base. If the mounting kit included a backing plate with double sided tape this would be a 5-star enclosure.
