For not being the most expensive set of optics on the market these bad boys work great. I bought them for my first spot and stalk elk hunt. During the elk hunt, I had zero issues. I spotted two cows and a bull over a mile away and was able to get within archery range. Since then I have taken them with me on every hunt to include: pheasant hunting in South Dakota, Oklahoma white-tail, Kansas waterfowl, and the cold morning hunts in Wisconsin.
I am new to hunting and wanted an entry level pair of optics and hearing great things about Vortex I gave these a shot and I can’t believe how awesome they are for the price. If you are use tonight end optics costing in the thousands these may not compare but if you are use to ones under $200 I can’t recommend them enough.
I hunt quite a bit out on western mountainous landscapes and these are a great cheaper pair of quality binos. I bought the 10x42s and in hindsight I do wish that I would have purchased the 10x50s just so I could get a little more light around early dawn or around dusk. If you are trying to decide between the two objective lens sizes get the larger option as it does not cost much more or add much weight.
The glasspak that they come with is a great bonus. it has worked out well for me so far and keeps your binos out of the weather, well protected, and easy to grab. I do wish that it had a better way to keep in closed however. There has been multiple times when I have been crawling into shooting positions or leaning over and had my binos fall out of the pack and I had to fumble around with them while getting set up to shoot which is a little annoying. I will likely Jerry rig a better way to keep the lid on, but overall these are great intro level binos.
Bought these for hunting, is that obvious? These binoculars are great. Crystal clear viewing, and great sharpness. I only every used binocs that you had to adjust for every distance in the past. These are basically set the sharpness, and your eyes take care of the different distances. They work great, love the included case and lens covers. Would definitely recommend!
