I’m using it for my iPad pro. I bought this to use SD cards and USBs and it works just fine. The only downside of this is that it doesn’t fit with any cover except for the original one with the keyboard. This is known factor before the purchase so it is not the problem for me. With the extension lid works good to me.
4.0 out of 5 starsAt least one thing that Apple should have included and some it should have considered.

I bought an iPad Pro for art, simply because nothing else could top it for an all-in-one graphics tablet, when combined with Procreate. I was well aware of the shortcomings that Apple engineer into their products however, such as the lack of expandable memory, no headphone port and the lack of compatability with non-Apple products.
This solves a lot of these problems in one fell swoop. Memory cards are recognized instantly, I can use my old but excellent headphones and I can share my screen easily with my TV or other monitor.
My only criticism is that this is quite a large piece of hardware, particularly with an HDMI cable attached that it could put too much strain on the USB-C port on iPad Pros. Perhaps only use this on a flat, stable surface to prevent damging the port.
If you are working with video files or photos the elago Aluminum Type-C Pocket USB-C Hub is a great addition to an iPad Pro. It connects to a USB C porto on your computer or supported tablet - and adds a MicroSD and Regular SD socket; along with a HDMI and 3.5mm audio jack. Finally there Is a pass through USB-C socket which will let you power your device. The one thing its missing is a standard USB-A socket for connecting legacy devices. I have some USB-C -> a adaptors and these let me connect a camera to the USB-C port and it provided access to the stored photos - and in the case of my RX100 charged the camera (from my MacBook Pro).
The Micro-sd socket takes the entire card with a spring; so if you wanted to you could use it as a permanent backup drive that is unlikely to fall out of the reader.
I tested it on my MacBook Pro using a 1000x Lexar SD Card and was disappointed the card reader could only achieve 24mb/s read speed using the Blackmagic speed test. This makes for a slow photo transfer. That said I could watch video files off the card without copying them onto my hard drive. I had the same experience on my tablet - I could watch videos from sd cards and on the iPad the slower read speed is less intrusive to the process.
In Lightroom on my iPad I could review the photo library on the card; and copy over those images I needed onto the local storage for editing.
My iPad and MacBook both happily charged through the pass through port; and my MacBook drove a 4k screen off the HDMI port.
Overall the performance of the card sockets on my MacBook was disappointing. However as someone who travels regularly - and is trying to embrace just traveling with my iPad Pro its great step forward for me. It makes the device more of a usable computer in a tiny form factor. The elago Pocket Pro Hub adds card sockets without carrying a miriad cables and adaptors. It also lets me connect to a room tv and review footage. Its only 4*s as its slow compared to other card readers on my mac which reduces it usefulness.
4.0 out of 5 starsWhat a great way to add more features to your devices.

I find this hub is a great addition to my iPad. I’m not one to buy subscription fees for extra storage so it’s great just to be able to plug up my memory cards and transfer over all of the photos and videos of my baby boy. The transfer is fast, I don’t need to sit drumming my fingers on the table while I wait. I like that they’ve added a charging port so you can continue charging my iPad while using the adapter. Since Apple has made my battery to not last as long now I have to keep it on charge most of the time. I was disappointed when apple decided to remove its 3mm audio jacks from the device because although I really like my Bose Bluetooth headphones there’s nothing better than grabbing out my old Sony earphones when the batteries need charging, especially when I was in hospital I did not want to take my Bose headphones with me and I’m glad I didn’t because my poor old Sony earphones got dipped into my yogurt and then my coffee and then ended up in bin. I have to agree with other reviewers about the price because it really is over priced. I think £10 should be reduced from the price for it to feel fair to the buyers. Obviously I don’t know how much it costs to make the product so I can’t tell if the seller needs this price tag to cover costs or if they want to make a better profit. What I do know is there’s plenty more out there with more competitive prices.

This adaptor is perfect for throwing in my bag when I am on the go and want to watch some things on sa large screen, like in a hotel or something, I can connect things easily. It is made out of the same painted aluminum style that Ipads are, so it blends in with the aesthetic very well
This dock came as described. It also matched the color on my space gray Ipad pro. Although it doesn’t come with a USB-A port but for a dock with this price it’s already a steal deal. Especially for a very nice design. Highly recommended if you doesn’t really use or need an USB-A
