a great addition to my cookbook library. I have so many books with beautiful recipes but they're more often than not very rich and more of a cheat day meal than every day cooking. this book gives me tasty options while still being a little more calorie conscious.
I have never actually returned any book before but did this one as it seems like a bunch of old recipes redone with very little innovation at all. I truly wish the guys luck in future ventures but this one is just not for me.
I think as a transitioning vegan this book is good. It takes a lot of favourites and changes them to vegan alternatives using tofu and vegan mince as well as introducing unfamiliar ingredients such as jackfruit and the meal plans at the front are a nice idea.
However I am left disappointed nothing has really grabbed me to make. Lots is a variation on a theme e.g there are five recipes based on chilli/Mexican spices, most of the pasta dishes are just pasta with bolognese sauces and a couple are Satay in different formats. Lots contain tofu which I am not a huge fan of (personal choice) and there are lots with maple syrup in and while not a refined sugar is still sugar and although I know I can omit this I feel it is a bit of a surprise to find it in a "healthy" book.
I was expecting something a little less processed e.g. lentils, beans and chickpeas something like "Oh She Glows" by Angela Liddon.
I will probably end up selling this as there is a mark made by me on one of the pages (it was in the kitchen). Hoped for a bit more considering the rave reviews of the previous book.
Very impressed such nice recipes and split into low fat, high protein, low carb etc and the recipes have ingredients easy to find in the supermarkets (although I did have to google a couple!) A wide variety of dishes and not to difficult to make. The book has some really nice visuals of the dishes. Lots of informative information regarding portion sizes, vitamins and minerals etc. Really impressed would definitely recommend. Even for non vegans there are great tasty recipes in here for a change from meat dishes you will not be disappointed.
Another winner from the Bosh boys. If you're looking to improve your diet in 2020 this is the book for you. There's a useful section about balancing your meals and where to get your essential nutrients from. The recipes are nutritionally balanced and calorie counted. I had the Middle-Eastern spiced chickpea salad yesterday, it was yummy. I love the other Bosh books but as I look to improve my diet I think this is going to be my favourite.
