To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
It is hard to think of how modern shooters will ever hold up to what Doom eternal accomplishes. It isn't easy, but it is a hell of a lot of fun. Addresses all the issues with Doom 2016 while ramping up the challenge and seriously, it is the most fun you can have with an FPS right now. If you like challenge and frantic, fast paced heart pumping, adrenaline fueled game-play, then don't even waste time on reviews just buy this game. If you don't, Doom probably was never the franchise for you.
The description says 'PC DVD' but no DVD is contained in the DVD case. Instead, all you get is an activation code printed on a cardboard disc that looks like a disc. This is a deliberate con!
Even worse, you have to use the code on Bethesda.net's awful website, not Steam. Starting the game entails first going to their site and then launching Doom from that. This sucks. It is really bad. If you want to buy a key for a digital download, get a Steam key and save yourself from Bethesda's dreadful hackery.
I feel conned and cheated, both by the seller and by Bethesda. Don't make my mistake, don't buy this product.
Doom never required expert jumping from platform to platform, cling on to walls, jump, dash, double dash then jump again, turn, double jump and hope you timed it right! Didn't do it right, back you go with less health.
Absolutely abysmal. The shooting and fighting are great, but you only get about 1/8 of your time doing this. I have played Doom since it existed, this is not Doom. It is a platform game with some shooty bits.
All who love Doom, will hate Doom Eternal.
Cheers Bethesda, well done on destroying the franchise.
I'll bet you are only saved thanks to Corona and the Lockdowns.
Box arrived, and has a... cardboard "disk" with a download code that only works if you first sign up for their online service and download the whole thing - which is what I was trying to avoid given I am currently tethering to a mobile phone and it will cost me the same again in data charges as I paid for this "PC DVD"
Buy directly from Steam instead. Its not clear from the product page but you get a Bethesda code not a Steam one. If you are fed up with installing launchers just for one game avoid and buy on Steam instead.
The latest update made it unplayable and completely locked up all programmes leaving a restart the only option. My AV picks up Denuvo anti cheat as a trojan and wnst to close it down for removal.
New patch 1.1 fixed these issues but once I started playing I found the game very poor and not what I expect from doom Too much jump swing and dash puzzles to fill in the time. I don't want a platform game.
