I love the simplicity of the recipes found in The Easy 30-Minute Cookbook by Taylor Ellingson. I also loved how the author included some pantry staple recipes you can whip up to use in cooking. The color photos illustrating her cookbook are helpful as the photos show completed recipes giving you an idea on how the recipe should look when completed.
Some of the recipes you'll find include:
Peanut Butter and Jelly Yogurt Parfaits One-Skillet Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Shrimp Tortilla Soup Gruyere and Roasted Red Pepper Tuna Melts Hummus Flatbreads Smoked Salmon Flatbreads One-Skillet Cashew Chicken One-Pan Dijon Herb Chicken and Vegetables Italian Sloppy Joes Taco Stuffed Peppers Balsamic-Glazed Pork Chops Taco Seasoning Mix Teriyaki Sauce Pancake Mix
At the end of her cookbook the author includes The Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen. These are fruits and vegetables that rated by pesticide loads.
Review written after downloading a galley from NetGalley and I also bought the cookbook as I liked it so much.
Loving this cookbook so far. I've tried two recipes: the "one-skillet cashew chicken" and the "vegetable fajita quinoa bowls". Both came out in under 30 minutes. I think other readers aren't reading the instructions first or very carefully since the author helps you manage your time while cooking (like starting something while something else cooks).
The rest of the recipes sound good too. I like that it's not the same old recipes in most easy cookbooks. And the photos are pretty great. It's a fun cookbook to have displayed on your kitchen counter.
One thing I also really liked were the tips in the first section. I thought the "gadgets for people who hate prep" was eye opening. And there were other cool tips like what ingredients to buy premade that are still healthy and recipes are organized by things like 5 ingredient ,one pot, no cook, and really fast recipes (under 10 minutes).
So I have the 30 minute cooking for two book from the same author, and my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it, so we bought this one for more recipes. So far everything has been delicious and easy, of course this book is for 4-6 servings, nothing wrong with having leftovers though.
Such a great addition to the kitchen! I love that the recipes are legitimately fast, but also have a lot of variety. From seafood, to breakfast, to vegetarian, it has simple recipes for all. I find myself going to this book multiple nights every week! I only wish it had more photographs to go along with the great recipes, but the results make up for that!
