For the price it's unbeatable. I bought this along with some high quality cables, speaker wiring and banana clips. I soldered everything perfect but I had a problem with the banana clips touching each other because the speaker output ports are so close. A bit of electrical tape fixed it and now it's basically flawless, apart from not having a DAC which produces a slight buzz at high volumes. I've been using this for about 2-5 hours a week since early October and there's been no problems. It can easily blow up little speakers tho so be careful. connected to PC via aux > RCA it reaches the limits of my speakers rated at 80w each at about 50% volume. (It's extremely loud at this volume) I usually run it at about 10% volume so I'm hoping it'll last. I will update this review if it breaks.
This product is below expectations. The instruction "manual" was poorly written, and hard to decipher. After a number of attempts, the "manual" advised that "scratchiness" was basically to be expected. Not recommended.
I have two douk amps and they both are great value for their cost. They power hard to drive speakers like the KEF LS50s and do not produce any clipping. The best feature is the independent subwoofer output which is needed when driving bookshelf speakers for two channel audio. The douk sound is at least as good as the brand name amps like Sony and Pioneer for stereo listening, but in a much smaller footprint.
I picked this amp since it had several inputs of the sort I wanted, specifically I have it connected to an Echo device so that I can have my outdoor speakers connected to the music I play on Alexa in the rest of the house. The amp itself doesn't work with Alexa, but I was able to connect the Echo device via Bluetooth to the amp and that worked great.
On the output side of things I was really happy with the audio quality it was able to put through the Polk Atrium 4 speakers. I'm not an expert with speakers, such as matching the wattage or ohms or all of those amp and speaker specs. But based on my research it appeared this amp had a good driver for those speakers and I was pleased when it was all hooked up that it did to a great job running the speakers. I do wish the amp had a regular audio 3.5 mm audio input or an optical input, I had to get other adapters or find other ways to plug in some other devices I had for those. And it also would be improved by having a remote control for changing the inputs.
I was excited to receive this product as I wanted to convert my back porch wired speakers to Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth connectivity is so poor that I am going to have to return it. I literally cannot get through even one song before it starts crackling and in most cases, just cuts off. This was very disappointing. I have my device just inside the house around 25 feet from my phone on the patio. Perhaps it can’t work through the French doors but it should be able to in my opinion. Anyway, highly disappointing.
