I like this radio. The size is perfect - large enough to operate and small enough to put in a pocket and have plenty of room. I find the radio reception is great for the vast selection of stations in Boston. I use a good headset with the radio which provides me with great sound and range in audio gain. I would suggest when you first purchase the radio, that you: 1) make sure you have defined the AM 10 KHz versus 9 KHz frequency separation, and 2) automatically store the stations into memory. Note there are two FM bands you can select but it is likely only one will have the frequencies for your are. If you need help there is plenty of info in these reviews. Battery life for my use case is around 6-8 hours.
This is a gift for a developmentally disabled person and is perfect for her. Although small, it has an easily readable screen, button touch tuning and the best part is that it's rechargeable. No need for batteries! It's small enough to fit in her pocket and sound only works with earphones (included) so she can listen anywhere without disturbing others.
I bought this as part of my emergency kit. There is no speaker but that is fine I have many battery operated speakers that can be plugged in. The Battery life is good and most importantly can be charged thru USB which means in the event of an emergency, I do not have to look for batteries if the ones in it go dead. Perfect for the purpose I bought it for.
My second one. Dropped one into the ocean by accident, but cheap enough so that doesn't matter much. If I had been using my phone to listen to the radio, that would have been much uglier. Both the old and replacement radios worked flawlessly and without a need for a data connection. One of the ear pieces on my old one went dead eventually, but that's par for the course for this class of electronics. Don't expect good reception inside commercial buildings, but there's usually wi-fi in that case, anyway. I use the radio for outdoor hikes so I don't drain the phone battery and don't run into data dropouts.
I have been looking for a radio that will hook up to my existing speakers on my motorcycle. Used the headphone jack to the aux input on my speakers, works perfectly for that. Saved me a bunch of money doing it like this instead of replacing my whole system. Thanks.
This is not a Walkman. Nowhere on the product does it say Walkman. The earphones, which are also the antenna, do not fit in my ears. The foam covers ripped when I tried to put them over the earphones. The sound quality was very poor and I could only get one of my favorite stations. This item was returned.
I like everything about it except: It’s one major glaring flaw is that on the a.m. stations you cannot set it to the exact number you want. It’s skips numbers. How they could overlook this I do not know.
Nice compact radio. My daughter uses it. Only gripe is that the lanyard s flimsy and broke easily, and the instructions are in poorly written English (I assume bad translation from Chinese) and can be a bit hard to make sense of.
