We really wanted to love this set. It has a lot of features (some perhaps a little over-marketed) and the microphone have a partial metal cylinder which gives them a good feel in had. However, this is probably only suited for connection to a MIC IN or pre-amp configuration. Tried it with RCA out to power amp, quality powered speakers, PA amp (CD/RCA inputs). The power into (5v USB charger cube) is just not enough to get any sound out of these. We had to turn the Mic vol to 100%, the powered speakers and/or amp to 100% (which is NOT good for them or speakers in case of a sound/feedback spike) to get any volume out of the BT or Mic input. It simply isn't powerful enough and yet if you hook it up to a PREAMP it will overdrive that with nothing but noise and clipping. Their support staff were very responsive and this make work for others.
Tested the new mic today the sound is pretty good and no visible noise. Few items could be improved - battery compartment in mic is low quality plastic and it looks like it may easily break if dropped -finishing could be better -when I turned on the mic, it gave a strong echo noise (only once when turned on), may be because I was close to the speakers -did not come with A/V to A/V cable. it was noisy when I used the A/V to mic input cable that came with it to use the output as a mic to my karaoke system - the wire that came with it has a small size connector and I had to sue a separate adapter to connect the wire to mic input line of my karaoke system -when I placed the receiver on table top, the button labels/names were not visible since they are below the knobs. had to lift it up to see which button is for what -there are no echo/bass controls for individual mics. its at common level
Otherwise, the sound quality is pretty good after a few minutes of testing. Will update after real use.
Purchased for our "karaoke van" - very easy / many ways to set this up. We can use Bluetooth or cables to input music. The wireless mics seem to be good quality. I love the fact that we can use with an iPhone, iPad, or anything else that can transmit the music, it can be powered with a USB cord (easy use in a vehicle) and that this thing blends the mics into the sound to be transmitted to an amplifier or speaker system. We just simply run everything (music, mics) through this, then run a sound cord to the car audio system and can play/sing over the van's speakers. I dinged it one star because there's a fair amount of static and whine between songs, but it's not terribly noticable once the music/singing gets going.
It worked great finally, setup is easy but following helpful tips in the manual would get the 5 stars.
1. I'd trouble turning on the microphone even after pressing for 2 seconds. I was almost planning to return but thanks to an Amazon reviewer I found that I'd to press it for almost 4 seconds. I have not found such tip in the user manual.
2. Voice from microphone was low. After setting the following sound levels it worked fine for me - 3/4 level on youtube music source via blue tooth, max level for music and microphone on the receiver, 85% on Bose Home Speaker 500. Setting higher than 85% on the speaker sound level makes the static noise louder on the speaker, not sure if it is due to the 3.5mm cord.
No product support as of yet. Bietrun is a product name, not a company. Will update if I can get it to work.
UPDATE: I upgraded the rating. most Tv's don't have rca audio output and my digital audio out died. my stereo receiver doesn't have a port that allows this device to be inputed. So, the only way I could get it to work was to buy a sound bar. Also have headphone audio out on stereo receiver connected to this device.
Wow these where a hit at our home hours of Karaoke fun. Just had to figure out the install but it was easy. Nice heavy feel to the mics .A big hit at our Christmas and New Years party. Highly recommend having a theater sound system hooked up to your tv for great sound.
Naturally, Youtube is the best app for Karaoke. To set up to your TV, bluetooth makes set up really easy. I can use my Nvidia Shield, FireTV, AppleTV, even Roku. For Nvidia Shield, FireTV or AppleTV just connect Bietrun to the TV device. For Roku devices, you will need to download the Roku App on your phone/tablet and use the private listening feature on the app while connecting your phone/tablet to the Bietrun via bluetooth.
Your speakers need to be connected to the Bietrun with a cable.
Easy to setup and use. Worked great out of the box. Sound is a little weak and in a big room that could be a problem, but I guess that depends on the speaker you have this connected to. I would still recommend!
