To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Something that should be noted in the description: if you are using the bigger 8amp hour battery, you will need a separate longer dust chute. This is not mentioned anywhere in the manual, nor are there instructions for removing the default chute. And the support line is terrible - completely misunderstood the question and were very slow to get back to me. I finally got it off applying a lot of force and prying it off with a wedge - never got to see how the suction power is
The power is good, and if I’m sanding on a horizontal surface the grip is comfortable, but if I try to sand something vertical, I’m worried I’ll drop it - I’m a pretty casual user and my hands are a bit small, so if you’re a pro, this probably isn’t a concern
The way you secure the sanding sheet has these two wire parts at the sides that are fidly and have to be secured one at a time. I found them very awkward to use
This works fine with 2ah batteries, but gives me tingly shocks when used with a 5ah battery (I've tried several of each.) Nothing painful, but a nuisance. Sanding performance is top-notch. Made quick work of refinishing raised-panel kitchen cabinet doors, hitting everything but the molding details. Make sure you have a friend with a 3d printer to make a shop vac hose adapter if you're not invested in the Dewalt proprietary dust collection.
