A most superior machine. Sound to die for. I previously had Fiio units and I loved them for the fidelity. The Hiby sounds even better. Bluetooth pairing is fast and easy. It's full operation is taking a while for me to figure out and the manual is more or less useless, but as I do I appreciate it more and more. However, there are a few important design oversights that I would ask them to correct. The following list comes as I think of them, not in order of importance. 1) I would prefer that Play Mode be tucked away in Settings. It tends to change on me with a misdirected breath. 2) When in the Music from SD Card menu which thankfully goes by artist, I would like to see text crawl to reveal full album and track information that's vital for a classical collection. At this time, I have albums that are left unidentified for lack of room. NG! 3) Output is defaulted at Headphones each time you turn the unit on. My habits tend towards Line Out. Leave it where it lays, man! 4) I would rather scroll with push buttons than to risk mis-selecting with fingers that didn't grow up with touchscreens. Also, the ability to go backwards a-z-y etc. would be quite handy, especially with a list containing hundreds of artists. 5) In the pull-up menu I don't know what half the symbols mean and again, the manual is useless. 6) I know there's a 6 somewhere but I can't think of it at the moment. Suffice it to say that these niggling little issues can be quite infuriating when you're beset by them. But the SOUND, oh that fantastic sound sort of makes it all worth while, and this DAP definitely worth the money.
This has been an excellent investment for me. It has excellent sound quality and is easy to use. Also, the unit works like a USB drive so it's very easy to put music on the unit.
One surprise was that I had to place playlists (M3U) into a specific directory to be visible on the unit. Another surprise was that the unit supports internet radio, but it's difficult to set up. To do this you need to build a special type of playlist with a specific name and placed in a specific location. It takes a bit of effort, but it does work.
The one failing is the documentation. It's very sparse and the information you can get from the web is also sparse. There is a lot of reading and a lot of experimenting.
If you have any real computer knowledge, this player is an excellent purchase. It has all the features that I want. If you have issues using a computer, you might want to look at a different player that has a more integrated solution.
For my first DAP (and Hiby product) this is surprising and amazing. It's easy to have this around on me anywhere and never have to worry about battery or it weighing me down. It easily lasts me all day with constant use playing FLAC. When i first found out about the balanced output and loads of features it then really stood out for me and made it hard to find another alternative that is as much value as this. I've only had this for little less than a month now but so far I can definitely say this a very tempting first lil DAP among others in the price range. I'm sure others who are familiar with this DAP will agree.
I really like the sound quality using the single ended and balanced connections. There is adequate power for my HighFiMan Sundara using the balanced connection producing excellent detail and punch. My in ear monitors also sound excellent (Fiio FD3). Highly recommended. I have found that the operating system is easy to use and I have not discovered any bugs.
This little HiRes player is awesome. It will accept up to 512 mb Micro SD card which will hold many, many songs depending on the file type. I am most concerned with sound quality so I am using a 400 mb Micro SD card and have all my songs in WAV files. I have over 6000 songs and have only used a little more than 1/2 the memory. The sound quality is as good as the original CD. The player is very high quality and small. I actually wish it was a bit bigger. It has many features other players do not such as bluetooth and the ability to play different file types. All in all I am very happy with my purchase.
This little player is great. I use it both with my balanced IEMs and with regular 3.5 over ear headphones. I use only Samsung micro SD cards with it and love it. The battery life is pretty impressive. I got the little man made leather case for it and it’s pretty nice.
Took a while to get used to music transfer but now its like 2nd nature. Great little MP3 player. I dropped the first one and this was my 2nd, battery lasts 5+ days on stand by if you do rewind/ff and just press play.
