15 Minutes of Flame is the third book in Christin Brecher's "A Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery" series. Stella is helping the Girl Scouts with a charity haunted house when she discovers a real skeleton that has been hidden for over 100 years. Her discovery and its ensuing investigation lead to a modern-day murder leaving Stella to discover how an 18th century love triangle resulted in three deaths.
While I did enjoy this book, I gave it 4 rather than 3 stars because I really love Halloween-themed cozy mysteries.
There were a few times that I really questioned Stella's access to certain information and especially to crime scenes. However, I appreciated that her character actively investigates the crimes instead of accidentally bumbling into the murderer. Brecher includes a lot of fall and Halloween fun in the book along with local Nantucket flavor.
I feel the characters can use a little more development in order for readers to really invest in them, but I do think this is a vast improvement over the last installment of the series (Murder Makes Scents).
Overall, it's a solid cozy mystery - especially for fans of Halloween and Nantucket.
