The only downfall to this switch is the blue LES light is really bright at night driving and is distracting. It’s mounted by my heater controls which is easy to get at when I need to use it. But have to put tap over it so it stops blinding me, while driving
So I made the mistake of ordering this with out noticing it was a latching push button. But it was pretty easy to convert. Where the c is located you have to cut out a small portion of the clear plastic to be able to remove the copper plate. Under that plate is the latching mechanism :). Happy to say it works great . Still makes the clicky sound but doesn't latch.

Good quality. Mine had a fixed LED ring that does not depress with the button. Very nice feel & works well. Nice latching connector, quality pigtails. LED can be used with higher than 12VDC voltage if you just add an external dropping resistor in series. I used 15K for 24VDC although I did not want the LED very bright. Switch contacts are rated for AC line voltage as well as DC. I have also used the 22mm version which has a floating LED ring but is 1.5 times the price. This is a great value.
I'm massively disappointed in this switch. It worked great for the first 2 weeks after I installed the switch to control the lights in the bed of my pickup. I wired the internal light on the switch to be off when the lights in the bed are off so as to not draw the battery down.
Something is shorted internally in the switch and now the light on the switch is on all the time, whether pressed or depressed. I've had to disconnect the switch to avoid drawing down the battery in my truck. I'm massively disappointed that this switch is junk. I'm glad I caught this now so I wouldn't wake up to a dead battery.
This switch was significantly larger than i expected from the pictures (but thats on me not the seller, its clearly stated in the ad).
I am using it in my car to add some additional lights in the trunk/boot.
Wired up to a fuse block with 18/2, just waiting for the lights to come in.
The wiring harness is big and sturdy, no chance of accidentally grounding, if you wire it correctly.
The wiring guide has full color pics, and is super easy to follow for setting up NO/NC applications. Internal LED is easily visible and actually pretty bright.
Overall great product, will buy again for any automotive other switches i need. Would probably work for marine applications as well, as it has a rubber spacer ring, and a threaded nut.

Large, but works flawlessly. Awesome.

So far so good...LED leads separate from switch contacts and LED will light with as little as 2.3V and less than 1mA when in a daylit room.
I will use the LED wires with a 3.3 V microcontroller output and its what I would call perfect bright at 3.3V. I don't see a full 1mA of current until 4V. At 12V I see 7-8mA. Brightness in daylit room doesn't change much after you increase past 4V or so...at least in daylit room.
For those asking about wiring, the cut sheet that comes with these makes it hard to see you need to wire in the LED to your switch contacts in different ways to see load/switch status. You effectively running LED across the source inputs to switch, or load side or parallel...look close and you can see these connections. . In my case switch state isnt what I want...I want a different staterepresented by the indicator led (i.e. is the load I am powering actually running) which this switch allows since LED is seperate.
The Apeile switch is well made and has a wealth of ways to connect the illumination feature. The rings glow nicely for nighttime use in an instrument panel - not too bright but definitely noticeable. Push button detent prevents inadvertent switch operation. The connector makes connections with crimp terminals very easy but you need to allow for the additional inch they extend beyond the body of the connector (which is long to begin with and suitable for mounting in thicker wood panels). I purchased 4 units and they all worked out of the box. Would definitely purchase Apeile switches again.
