My melanin ladies, this is good for sun protection because it is spf 50 especially since we need it. Upon buying this I new there would be some sort of white caste but I was buying it solely for the high spf and the great reviews that ppl say from it. However when I put it on I could not get passed how white it looked on my skin, so what I did is I put the Colorscience sunscreen on first then the “Black Girl Sunscreen” on top of that bc it doesn’t leave a white caste. I notice when I do this method the white doesn’t show as much and it just leaves a glowing look. I’ve been getting into skincare and I just want to say for all my melanin ladies: wear high spf!!! Bc we need it!!! Those UV rays are no joke!!! Would I recommend this product? - I think it’s good if you want a high spf and if you have a good skin complexion it will work for you, but I will probably be looking for a non caste one that’s a high spf. Also I got the glow one because they were out of the bronze!!! The first pic is how it look with just the colorscience. The second pic, is how it looked when I applied the “black girl sunscreen” on top. Hope this review is helpful!!!
I purchased the original version (NOT the glow or bronze one) and while it applied sorta pink/white, it ended up blending into my skin and I was happy with the final result as a primer of sorts. It is def not matte, more of a dewy finish. After researching for a long time, I found this to have the most preferred natural ingredients and my skin leans dry sometimes so I thought I found my holy grail. Fast forward to recently I bought what I thought was the same formula just tinted and to my surprise I found I bought the glow version. No big deal I thought I’m sure it’ll be fine - nope. It’s like smearing glittery highlighter all over your face. The actual color was a slightly better match but wow the glitter/shine was essentially unforgivable and this is coming from someone who normally uses k-beauty aka I’m used to glow/dewy finishes. I tamed it while on vacation by using bb cream and powder but yikes I will be returning. Maybe you could use for neck and collar bones but at this price, I want something I can use generously on my face. Would recommend the original classic (seems to be sold out on amazon) for light, cool or neutral skin tones who are ok with a non matte finish. I’d give 5 stars for the original, 3 stars for the glow just based on the glitter, for an average for 4 stars in this rating.
