Beautiful book with clear instructions. HOWEVER, the ingredient list and instructions for Chestnut Rum Chess Pie appear to have left out the rum. Is this an editing error, or dies chestnut rum pie just not contain rum?!
My daughter used to go to college in Manhattan and used to take me to Petee's Pie shop every time I visited her. They have the best pies! Every pie I ate was delicious! My favorites were Apple pie, blueberry pie and Almond black bottom Chess pie. I am so glad all those recipes are in the book. I already made the apple pie and it was easy to put together and delicious. I will try the Almond Chess pie next. I didn't use the crust recipe from this book and used Bouchon's Pate Brisee all butter recipe instead. I couldn't get it to stop the cracking using Petee's recipe. Pie crust is my kryptonite!! Purchase this book if you like pies! Good instructions and not complicated.
book is good for american style dessert pie's. I was looking more for the combined english pie's but I guess for that I have to get seperate another book. (selected one for savory already). Overall the book still was a good buy since we all like desserts & sweets
Love this book! I love the PETEES, I go to the LES location every time I’m in NY! I was looking forward to going again in 2020 but Corona happened and couldn’t. This book made it possible for me to bring NY to me! The recipes are easy to follow and delicious! I’ve made 6 pies so far and I’m planning on making more! So informative!
