I bought this product about a week ago when it was $49 to try out in my bedroom to help cool down the temperature as my central air doesn’t seem to be strong in this part of my home. The tank for this is very small. I would say it will run for about 4 hours or so straight before it will run out of water and just turn into a fan. The cooling aspect of this machine is NOT worth the money. I have tried putting in ice cubes, cold water, everything and it BARELY feels any cooler than any regular portable fan would. This would be great for someone who is looking for a compact humidifier as it leaves water vapor into the air, but for cooling down, it sucks. I would not consider this a “portable air conditioner” more like a portable fan with color changing lights. I wouldn’t pay more than 20 bucks for this.
I bought this to cool off a little bedroom in the house that is a bit warm and it does nothing really unless you are sitting immediately in front of it. The water/ice will last for a few hours on high, more if on a lower setting. Not worth the money honestly. A regular fan has worded better. On a good note, delivery was prompt and packaged well.
I bought this device for my small office which gets pretty hot during the summer months. Unfortunately it doesn't cool at all. Calling this device an air conditioner is just false advertising. It's just a fan with a built-in humidifier. Even if I use lots of ice cubes and water straight out of my fridge, it's still not cool. My tower fan does a better job than the portable air conditioner fan and it's also much more quiet. If you use the portable air conditioner fan on full speed (which is necessary, otherwise you don't feel anything) it's really loud. Also, this device is way overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately I can't recommend it at all.
Current Update: So I loved this mini A/C humidifier but I primarily bought it for the humidifier setting. And fast forward to September and the humidifier setting doesn't work at all. I have cleaned it thoroughly and made sure no valves seemed to be clogged but I am also unable to completely dismantle it to do any kind of closer inspection as the screwdriver I own doesn't even fit in the slots available despite the screwhead being the appropriate size. It no longer registers that there is water in it nor does the cooling air light come on. It is basically an extremely expensive - I paid $60 for this initially and it is now listed at half price! - tiny three speed fan that does not even cool a small room on its own. You basically have to sit right next to it to get any cool air without the cooling humidifier effect available. It sits on my bedside table and keeps my face and pillow moderately cool - although I often have to readjust it so it is pointing directly at me or it is basically just a white noise machine. In the long run this is really a let down and a waste of money. I already own a full sized, three speed fan that does a better job of keeping me cool than this unit does at point blank range. I don't particularly suggest this unit unless you would only occasionally use it maybe for camping and even then I would be careful with it. I treated this thing like my baby and it didn't last the year. Or even a full six months if I remember my purchase date correctly. But I'm editing it to two stars because it did work initially and the cooling humidifier setting is great if you get nighttime congestion. But other products also have cooling humidifiers and you would likely have better luck looking elsewhere.
Initial Review (2 months use) I actually love this little thing! It definitely won't cool an entire room but it kepte nice and cool during the hottest parts of the summer. I would out chipped ice in the water and it was honestly all that saved my sleep schedule. I did have to put it basically right by my bed but it was worth it since I have a bedside table. Adding water also humidifies the air and I will likely use it during the winter as well to keep the air from drying too much. It's a simple enough fix to just out it on a different surface so you aren't blowing cold air on yourself. It still works after two months with no issues at all so it's well worth it in my opinion.
Product works well overall. Has been a real life saver for me during this summer as I moved into an apartment with no AC. The air is really cool, easy to use and transport. It isn't that strong so you ideally have to be closeby. I bring it with me to the living room, my desk, my bed etc. When you put the water in to use the AC the water lasts a good 3-4hrs usually and it's ok to leave it on overnight. One thing that's minor (at least right now) but kind of annoying is that sometimes when I plug it in, it doesn't turn on. I need to unplug and re-plug a few times (sometimes once or twice, sometimes more like 10 times) before it works. Like I said, it's a minor annoyance right now. Overall, if you're in a place with no AC and you don't want to spend a few hundred on a super strong AC that can cool a room, this is a really good alternative. EDIT: ok update.... I don't recommend buying this. The plugging issue has gotten worse. Sometimes I literally spend 5+ minutes unplugging and plugging back in before it works. I've tried it on several different outlets around the apartment and it's the same. When it turns on it helps cool you but it probably won't last long. Kind of disappointing and very annoying EDIT AGAIN: hate to say this but I officially do NOT recommend buying this. The problem with the plug has gotten a lot worse. It'll probably stop working altogether. I would try another product.
More of a personal fan. Not an Air conditioner. I used it in my small to regular size bedroom and it didn’t make any difference as far as cooling the room down. Don’t waste the money, this company charges too much for what this product is. The lights are a nice touch and that’s the only thing I liked. It also was spitting water out and when I received it it had scratches and marks all over it. Not worth it in my opinion! Wouldn’t recommend.
Definitely not worth the price, wouldn’t pay more than $20 for this had I known how sucky it is. I put ice water in it and it hardly puts out any mist even when I’m less than a foot away. Weak fan. Don’t recommend.
Update: after 4 days of using it the mist no longer comes out on any setting :(
I should have known..... This will chill down a room that is about 10 cubic square feet just great! If you forget to turn it off, no worries, it will run and run till it breaks down. Oh, and another nice engineering touch is that the power cord plug in is just in line with the water fill port so if you screw up in the middle of the nite, you can lubricate the electrical components as well. I'm reminded of my first electronics project in college, but this is packaged in sexy plastic that only the Chinese can do for such a low price.
